Savage is just a caricature of Limbaugh; what people on the left say about Limbaugh is true of Savage--loud, obnoxious, angry, hateful, ill-informed. And I don't give a crap that he has a degree in growing flowers.

My husband and I have been big fans of Mark Levin for years.

It's depressing we don't get him on Little Rock radio...or even XM..so we have to go on line to listen. Thank God for the internet :)

If you can swing it XM is great. You can't beat it on a long car trip.

Michael Savage does name call and go off the deep end which detracts from his show. However on the single most important issue of our times : ISLAMOFASCISM, there is no one that gets it like he does. He says it like it is, is very informed on history and is the Paul Revere of talk radio. He is also a raconteur par excellence and has a magnetic radio presence. I understand why he is bashed on FR but not even Rush, who is my overall favorite gets it like Savage does on the war on ISLAM. He understand the true existential nature of the threat and is also a very gifted and funny writer. Let us be more accommodating of Savage, he is essentially on our side folks.

I like Mark Levin...I just wish whoever his producer is would look into getting a compressor. His voice is quiet, THEN LOUD, then you turn it down and can't hear him. Come on, figure it out! The whole idea behind a compressor is to get an even output from varying levels of input. Is it just me?

Schmuckie Schumer was the last straw for me with Savage. Mark is the hottest thing on the air, but, he runs out of steam early and then trolls for lib callers. Yes they are kinda fun but don't add to the substance of the show.

JMO of course but there are many issues out there and Mark only covers a few of them.

"...he is essentially on our side folks."

Before all is said and done, you'll have to eat those words, I'm afraid.

I met Mark at the Free Congress Foundation dinner in 1999, he was at the table next to me. He had some quality people at his table, our Jim, Lucy Anne, Connie and others. After Steve Forbes spoke I went and talked to Mark, asked him where his Rush tie was, he joked with me and pulled on my tie. It was a great night honoring the house impeachment managers, yep vice president (as Rush would say) Lindsey Graham was there. Mark is # 1 uses the Bob Grant "get off my phone" to the well deserving.

Great showing for Mark as his show is growing nationally. I like Savage, but sometimes I'd like to strangle him, just a metaphor he gets wishy washy drives me nuts. His opinion is his, he pulls no punches.

Over the long-term, Mark will probably beat Mike. But if he wants to accelerate the process, Mark will do well to continue to goad Mike at every opportunity:

Mike is volatile, and so goaded he will spend considerably more time doing things that turn a lot of his audience off, instead of things that turn his audience on:

Mike is good at beating up on libs, recalling his boyhood past, and recounting the merits of dogs, boating and food. In fact, Mike Savage is so good at those things that he doesn't even have to try --that's how he built up a national audience, and before that, an audience in San Francisco, of all places.

So goaded, though, Mike will submit to his own natural vindictiveness, and he will spend time on things that turn his audience off:

Mike will lash out at people who his base might not devote listenership to, but with whom they share many, many ideas; Rush (listen to him very little --I hate golf), Levin (I listen), Hannity (nice, but a younger knock-off of Rush), BOR (whom I completely hate). These are just the first names that occur to me.

Levin should attack:

1. Small dogs, e.g. poodles
2. Yachting
3. Rockstar energy soda
4. Marin county
5. Meatballs
6. Fiji
7. Poetry
8. Skinny-dipping
9. Herbal nutrition stores

Use creative combo's:

"I was going to eat a plate of Italian meatballs washed down with stale, overpriced energy drink, but instead settled for grilled poodle." "I was going to run over poetry-spewing skinny-dipper from Marin trying to swim to Fiji, but I felt sorry for his little dog..."

Lots of combinations are possible --put your writer on it to include as many elements as possible in plausible combinations.

Mark, why do you put up with people who ASK YOU HOW YOU ARE...? Think up some savage retort, or simply hang up on them --they'll catch on....

I think you're onto something there, good ideas. About the " people who ASK YOU HOW YOU ARE...? I agree. Seems people can't speak till they ask that.

You'd think the screeners would instruct the callers to avoid asking such like the Medved screeners do.
