Looks like you're wearing those rose-colored glasses about Iraq.

I never really supported or opposed the war from the start. I thought removing Saddam Hussein would be good, but I always have opposed any kind of nation building, and 9/11 didn't change that.

But this war hasn't gone well. How many American soldiers have died and how many billions have been spent? That ain't a conservative or liberal thing, no matter how the true-believers say. Plus, it's a drag domestically. Think about it, Iraq will be the biggest reason why republicans lose seats this November, and possibly lose a majority in one of the chambers. Is Iraq worth a speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi? More gun control? More taxes? More liberal social issues? I'm having doubts.

The costs of this war, coupled with the whole nation building crapola, are really making me think if liberating people, some grateful many not, from Saddam was and is really worth the building price tag.

NapkinUser, many here actually agree with you on many of these points, but we are now 3 WEEKS AWAY FROM THE ELECTION. What good is it to re-hash all this now, as Savage and you are, and to do so for the next three weeks? Who does it help?

Republicans? I don't think so.

Democrats? Absolutely.

I ask all: Will this incessant, non-stop Bush and Republican bashing help keep Republicans in power or not?

I also ask all: Will we be in better shape with the Dims controlling the House, the Senate, or both??

And again I say, as bad as Republicans have been on numerous subjects, having even a minute part in putting Democrats in power is insane.

You know as well as I that the peeples can be swayed by opinion. It is reality, it is just the way it is. I do not like it! But it is the truth. The peeples are not political junkie like Freepers are for a variety of reasons. If only 1/10 of 1% of potential Republican voters decide not to vote, or vote for a third party or Democrat, that could have a disasterous effect.
