This is my pet peeve. You say you're a chocoholic. Apparently, this word, like similar made-up words indicating addiction to something, is derived from 'alcoholic'.

The alcoholic is a person who is physically addicted to alcohol. Alcohol-ic. The -ic is tacked onto the end of trhe name of the substance the person is addcted to.

Therefore, a person who is addicted to chololate should be called a chocolatic, not a chocoholic.

There, I feel better now.

"chocolatic"

Sounds way too much like those chocolate squares I mistakenly ate when younger. Didn't realize that a whole lot of people made the same mistake until I got older and mentioned it in passing...

And yet, everyone knows exactly what we're talking about when we say "chocoholic" or "shopaholic."

On the other hand, some have interpreted an alcoholic as an "Alcoaholic" who wears a great deal of tin foil.
