This article is almost amusing. They start out talking about Pooch going negative, then go on to cite each and every criticism launched against him by leftist wackjobs. How dare he oppose Lockyer's "nuisance" lawsuit agains automakers for global warming emissions! Yeah, yeah, I know--consider the source.

I suspect it's because he wants to stop the death penalty once and for all (which he tried to do by installing Rose Bird & Co. in the CA Supreme Court), and sees the challenge to the lethal injection of murderer/necro-rapist Michael Morales as the best chance to accomplish that. It could also have something to do with government being all he knows how to do, and can't fathom the relative instability of the private sector.

To be fair, when you're running against Jerry Brown, what is there that you can possibly say about the guy that's positive?
I mean, well, yeah, he was banging Linda Ronstadt back when she was young and hot, but that's not really germane to a political campaign, is it?
When Jerry was gov he packed the Attorney General's office with anti-death penalty lawyers. I was told by an insider that these lawyers would PURPOSELY LOSE a case if it looked like capital punishment would be the result. Jerry's actions are still hurting CA many years after his last escapade.
