Randy Graf vs. Gabrielle Giffords
Human Events ^ | 10/03/06 | John Gizzi

To hear the liberal media, the Democratic Party and a few disgruntled liberal Republicans tell it, the seat of retiring Rep. Jim Kolbe (R.-Ariz.) is already lost to the Democrats. Republican nominee Randy Graf would save himself a month of aggravation by conceding now, they will tell you, and Democrat Gabrielle Giffords can start hiring staff and contacting real estate agents in Washington, D.C.

To all that, conservatives throughout Arizona’s 8th District and nationwide should chorus in unison: “You’re dreaming!”

Lots of rah-rah in the piece but no facts that show Graf can win. Graf can't, there's a reason gay RINO Kolbe held this seat until he got tired of it. When Kolbe announced his retirement most people paying attention in the district figured the seat would go to the Dems, then well connected Gabrielle announced her candidacy and it was all over. In CD8 it's not a question of if Graf can win, it's a question of if any GOPer further right than Kolbe can win, and the answer is no. I support Graf, I voted for Graf, but he's gonna lose.

The GOP hurt Graf. I could blow a head gasket over this!

I know its a difficult race but conservative grassroots activists in TX and other states are working this campaign very seriously. I wouldn't write it off yet and Graf continues to narrow the lead of Giffords. Also, this race is being watched closely by the GOP and a Graf victory may very well signal a change in GOP open border policies which would really energize the base.

It's important that we all do what we can for Randy. Thanks.

Anyone who thinks Giffords will change things in DC is kidding themselves. Just read about this sweetheart deal she made while in the state legislature.

Just imagine what she will be willing to do with the contacts she makes in DC to enrich her corp. further. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

OOPs that was before she was elected to the state leg. Just shows she was already in with the elitist insiders back then.
