#366. Joe Negron is getting to as many campaign appearances as possible, and his website joenegron.com is up and running and anyone can donate if they wish. He is having to have volunteers call Registered Pubbies and tell them that a vote for Foley is a vote for him and the 8 County Supervisors of elections in the 16 CD have voted to allow Signs to be posted at the Precincts indicating the same thing. He is getting a lot of support because he is a pragmatic environmentalist like most of the voters in the 16CD,and is more Conservative than Foley. It is an uphill battle to try to get People to vote for someone that is no longer running in order to get the good guy in there. We have a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser coming up this Thursday October 19 at the Shrine Club North of Sebring which Joe and a lot of Surprise Candidates will attend. Everyone is working hard even though in my county in particular we have the oldest per capita population in the State, and those old bones don't move as well as they used to years ago. The elderly have a huge advantage here, they have done it all before and are seasoned in GOTV,and they will donate big bucks to pay for any last minute GOTV strategies. We are still pumped and he(Joe) is a great Candidate, especially when you look at that UGLY thang that is running against him. Send Money

#247 Kerry is insane. I spewed coffee when he said the Bush admin was "living in a dream world".He's out of his F-ing mind. Worse, he's a F-ing liar. Baghdad Bob could take lessons from him

#376 And yet, if the story is true, FNC refused an ad blaming Clinton for not taking action on serveral fronts. Their excuse for refusing the ad.....the premise in the ad can't be replied to..............Does that make ANY sense at all? I am beyond understanding FNC other than to believe they took terrible heat from above following the slick willie melt down with chris WallaSS.

7. Alas Babylon!

#525 I'll tell y'all something about the way the rest of the world thinks about the United States: Many of them hate us because of our success and our good-natured attitude and friendliness. I served overseas in the early '80s, under Reagan, and again in the '90s under Bush the Elder and Clinton. The overseas Leftists really hated Reagan, but their venom was muted to a degree due to the Cold War. The Soviets, still being dictatorial bastards, gave peace-loving people plenty of ammunition to use against them. Even still, the huge marches against Reagan in Europe, especially over the deployment of Pershing II IRBM, in response to the Soviets FIRST deploying SS-20s at all their capitals and peoples, were some of the biggest gatherings of anti-Americans ever assembled. The DBM ignores this or is too stupid or too stuck on their times only to even acknowldege it. During the 1990s, the protesters were once again out in force over Desert Shield. I was at the Pentagon then (soon to go overseas), and had a part time job working for the Veterans Administration next to the White House. Next door, in Lafeyette park, the aging, smelly, greasy-haired hippies had this enormous tom-tom drum, which they beat every five seconds. I could hear it in the VA's computer room, even with the air handlers going full blast and a 6 node VAX cluster running. I have yet to encounter a more disturbing noise since. The Worldwide Left threw similar hissy fits all over, especially in Europe. During the Clinton years, the world began to REALLY, REALLY hate us, and, believe it or not, it wasn't just about Clinton. You see, after the Soviet Union broke up in late 1991, we, meanning the United States of America, was the only super power left standing. Without the various nations taking sides either with us or the Soviets, they could all hate us together. Everyone loves to hate the richest, biggest, strongest person--it's simple human nature. The USA is simply a national personification of this. Our culture is world wide. I have seen Japanese kids, German kids, Italian Kids, Greek kids, wearing their pants halfway off their butts and various NBA and Raiders jackets, half-cocked ball caps, etc, all over the world. Rap music in Berlin at 2:00 AM on a Tuesday. McDonalds in Paris, serving Le Royale (Big Mac)... Chrysler minvans on the Autobahn to Basel, Switzerland. I have been stared at in disgust by older Germans just for being "too friendly". These people won't even talk to each other, so it annoyed them when a strange American treated them nicely. I just laughed at them, knowing how we kicked their asses! Der Fuerer's tot, dumkopf! Under Clinton, the USA was percieved as a joke politically. It was like Peyton Place moves to the White House. So many European people told me what a bumpkin they thought he was. Now Bush is a MAN, and an American man at that. Nice guy! Friendly. But means what he says and says what he means. No nuance in him. They hate that! Since then we have been using just SOME of our power and might to take out Islamic fascists. The already-hating-us world Left is still, well, hating us. Nothing is new. The self loathers we have in this country (Kerry, et al), simply are jointed at the cerebellum with the world Leftists.

#346 on the topic of racism.... on the Control Congress blog- John Konop posted a story about voter ID laws. this leftist- calls himself "LeftHook" posted this- Is any conservative willing to confess that the “real” reason you strongly support a voter ID law isn’t racism or fear of voter fraud—-it’s because you believe that anybody who can’t get it together enough to get an ID doesn’t deserve to be participating in national decision making? And will you also confess that if the tables were turned and the voter ID law would erode the Republican voter base that you wouldn’t be pushing so strongly for it? so I responded with this- LeftHook better question. If the Dems could actually win an election on the issues, would they bother stuffing ballot boxes with Disney Characters, dead people, and illegal invader votes? Oh- and would they bother driving state to state to vote? And would they be so desperate as to start looking in prisons for a new voter base? Hysterical that you would find fair election with integrity some kind of threat, and even funnier that wanting integrity in the elections is called racist. Sounds like the Libs are the ones who are racist and elitists here. You're saying that your voter base is too stupid or too weak to get an ID….and you are claiming they are all poor and minorities…now- who is racist here? Amazing how racist the Libs are and yet the minorities are just absolutely BLIND to it! I just DON'T GET IT! http://controlcongress.com/uncategorized/no-voter-id-a-right#comments

#25. Morning AB, everyone, looks like another great thread in the making. Poor rat panel on Chrissy's pathetic show, they still think McCain has a chance. One of the topics covered this week at Red state was just that, who the blogosphere thinks will be our next potus. McCain was on the list but wait until you see where. It's at Red State here" http://www.redstate.com/ Along with lots of other great topics like exposing an AP writer for doing an editorial and trying to pass it off as straight news--Tom Raum, and then there is the Claire McCaskill fiasco. Seems McCaskill has a few problems at home with her not so nice hubby who gets a little violent with his women--rat family values here. Talent should have no problem knocking her off. There is also a gripping photo of Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Monsoor only two days before he died, must see photo it will tear your heart out. We definitely have the absolute best fighting force ever assembled and anyone who advocates they surrender, cut and run or anything other than win should definitely just shut up. Red State also has a good piece on the demise of Air Amerika and why rat radio just won't work in a free market where advertisers actually expect something from what they purchaseand still another look at Rick Santorum and how good he really is.Check it out.

#61 Great points, I agree. Democrats will overplay their hand. The fact is Democrats and media have been hammering President Bush for six years, nonstop. At some point it has to take a toll, although we have proved the left wrong for six years now. The unknown and critical component in our success is the independent, non aligned voter. These people for the most part realize the left is overplaying the Bush Lied scenario because what they see on TV shows a calm, deliberate mature president. Voters like that confidence and if Bush & Co were to come out swinging it might turn them off. It’s hard to argue with success, and so far the results have been good. The question is whether or not this will work one more time? In the mean time, people like Kerry and Hillary are playing to their base in being more and more outrageous in their accusations against President Bush. The far-left supporters such as Daily Kos, MoveOn and Democrat Underground have made it pretty clear they will withdraw support unless these people get more radical in attacking President Bush and the Republicans. Just watch Condi and Kerry today. Condi will be calm and deliberate while Kerry will be outrageous and confrontational. (He may also try to pull a Clinton if he thinks he can get away with it.)

3. YaYa123. #22 You said it exactly right: ".....President Bush is the least partisan president we've ever had. He has remained civil, non partisan, reaching out time and again only to get stomped on by the demonrats. How come the beltway jackasses never mention that!" That's what is so disturbing! Democrats were determined from the git-go to punish Bush for Clinton's impeachment. Bush wasn't even in Washington back then!! This hatred from the left is totally responsible for the divisiveness in Washington.

#281 Something else....all last week the MSM tried to portray McCain's criticism of the Clinton North Korea policy as something new. The MSM didn't want to have to say Hillary started the war of words, by blaming the NK nukes on Bush, so they declared this was the beginning of Clinton v McCain 08 presidential race. BS alert!! McCain has been on Bill Clinton's NK policy going back years and he wasn't about to let Hillary get away with ignoring his long held position. We might have taken comfort in McCain rushing to the defense of Bush, but in truth, McCain was defending himself. Read the following eye opener written by McCain in 2003: Click here

2. Phsstpok. Always a thoughtful contributor. You should read all his posts.

#394 It could be fun to watch Kerry get between Hillary and the nomination. Talk about roadkill. She will flatten John. Kristol on Fox was talking about Gore having a shot in '08 of going at Hillary and anyone else from the left. He talked about a debate moment that he predicted would happen where Gore insists that everyone who was in the Senate, which would likely include all of his erstwhile opponents and certainly includes Hillary, were guilty of having voted for the Iraq war while he opposed it. He said that would carry the day with the Democratic primary voters. Oh, joy. Another election with Al Gore, this time blown up to Orson Welles like physical proportions, with the ego to match but, sadly for him, lacking even the slightest hint of Welles' talent.

#483. How is the tone of the calls going, Phsstpok? My fingers are crossed for Corker. It's 90% no answer or leaving a message on an answering machine. It is the weekend, after all, and people are out enjoying relatively good weather, particularly yesterday. I've gotten several "you don't have to convince me" folks and one who wanted to argue about Social Security ("I've lived in this country 50 years and been a citizen for 30 but I can't speak English and they make it hard for me and they don't pay for my teeth anymore"). Thank goodness I've only gotten one where "that person has died" number so far. And that one sounded like it was recent. I felt really bad and had nothing good to offer. There are a bunch of folks who are voting not for Corker but for "The Republican," which is my motivation as well. I was a Bryant supporter but Corker won the primary. There is no way in hell that I want Majority Leader Reid, however. There was one lady who was voting that way but wanted me to promise that I'd tell Corker (who I haven't met) that he can't lower himself to their level with his ads. Okey dokey.

Hitlery is already having a fit over John McCain basically calling her a liar about what she said about Bubba and NK. It got really ugly - -I don't think she would've apologized by the outcry made her. It's definitely going to get uglier and uglier before Nov 7 and the '08 elections will be reallly bad. Hillary Aide Mocks McCain POW Past, Dowd: George 'n Jong - Couple Of 'Immature' Guys, NY Times-Maureen Dowd/NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein Posted on 10/14/2006 6:40:01 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest For Maureen Dowd, politics are mainly personal. This morning she managed to reduce the current Korean conflict to an image of two boys behaving badly. Also, is mocking John McCain's POW past a smart move for the Hillary camp? Dowd offered a stunning insight into the Hillary campaign that suggests it might not be the ready-for-presidential-primetime operation some might imagine. The main topic of Maureen Dowd's subscription-required column of this morning, Is Chivalry Shivved?, is the war of words between Hillary and John McCain, as the two top presidential contenders recently fired some early shots over the other's bow on the topic of responsibility for the N. Korean nuclear mess. Dowd managed to work in the DNC talking point of the week: the need for direct talks between the Bush administration and N. Korea. [Former Clinton UN Ambassador Bill Richardson was all over the morning shows today pushing the idea, by the way.] In any case, viewing the N. Korean nuke situation through her politics-of-the-personal lens, Dowd saw things thusly: "It’s clear, after all, that the North Koreans are acting immaturely in response to W. acting immaturely. They want attention because the Bush administration inexplicably refuses to talk to them. And they know, in the pre-emptive world ordained by nutty Dick Cheney, that the best way to protect themselves from the fate of Saddam Hussein is to actually go nuclear, rather than merely fantasizing and boasting about it." Just a couple of wild 'n immature guys, that George and Jong. Nice moral equivalence, Maureen. As for the pro-pre-emption Dick Cheney ["nutty" - this is what passes for serious criticism at the Times nowadays?], wouldn't Dowd agree that the world would be a much better place if Bill Clinton had permanently pre-empted OBL when he was handed the chance? Aside: I was fascinated by this nugget Dowd reports from inside Hillary Central: Privately, Hillary’s camp was not overly upset by the McCain swipe because it suspected he was doing the bidding of the White House and that he ended up, as one adviser put it, “looking similar to the way he did on those captive tapes from Hanoi, where he recited the names of his crew mates.” If Hillary and her advisers think it's smart to attack McCain by making snide comments that invoke his five years as a POW, then she's not the smartest-woman-in-the-world political juggernaut some make her out to be.
