FOX has it at the website.
Thanks for doing what you can for Corker in TN.
This race has obviously been tougher than most had imagined.
I hope he's able to pull this out in the last three weeks.
Oh goody :)
The more we all join together (at places like FR) and research people behind her, reveal the shadow government she is trying to run aided and abetted by George Soros and his ilk, the sooner the tide is going to turn this country away from the precipice of the leftists; who are determined to undermine this country from within.
Most of us who have been aware of the klinton's proclivities, from championing the PLO decades ago when there was no pretense of them being political, but simply murderous terrorists, to her support of the Black Panters......KNOW, and will never lose sight of the fact that these two are pure EVIL.
I got to thinking about that, in light of her obscene outburst at Madison Square Garden this week and an editorial by a Rabi who helped her and her son prepare for his Bar Mitzvahs that said this isn't the Streisand he once knew and he's shocked by her behavior.
It made be think back on her friendship with Clinton and his mother and wonder if getting sucked into his inner circle somehow warped her ability to see and think clearly.. in other words, I can't help trying to figure out what makes someone take such a sharp turn in their thinking and become as vicious as she or Hillary? Way off the Sunday Thread... just musing today.
OK, remember, you asked. <g>
Bottom line is not real good. I've decided I need to do the transplant on the right eye ASAP as it's getting worse and I'm beginning to experience more pain because of the detereoration of the cornea.
I still don't have good enough vision in the left eye to do a full day of work on the computer without a really bad headache and, quite simply, I lose the ability to focus and read after about 5 or 6 hours. We want to try to fit a contact lens on that eye instead of using the glasses beause that should help with reading, given my eye condition. I'd like to get that done before scheduling the surgery, but that may not work out. After a corneal transplant the way they fit a contact lens is to get a set of oddball size and shape lenses (several of them actually invented to deal with my eyes many years ago by a guy in Hawaii named Tannehill) and then through trial and error find a shape that fits without too much pain or other problems. They then measure the correction needed over that and get a lens made using the calculated specs. There are only 8 sets of those trial lenses available in this region and, even though they ordered them, none came in before my appointment a week ago with this new contact lens specialist, so I sat there for about an hour and then they told me to go home. They're just waiting now for one of the other doctors to send a set back in and get it shipped to them then they'll call me.
I'm going to be traveling the week of the 23rd and again the week after, so I really hope they get the trial lenses this week, otherwise it will be well into November before we get that process started. On top of that my company insurance is changing at the end of the year to where they'll cover only 90% after the co-pay, not 100%. Transplant surgery is about $5,000, all told ($50 for the donated eye that they take the cornea "button" from, if you believe it) and I want to get it done before the end of the year to save that five hundred extra dollars we'd have to pick up. If we haven't gotten the contact lens process started before I go on my trips we'll go ahead and schedule the surgery anyway for sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Other than that everything's fine. How are you. ;^>
SC sent me a Freepmail with much the same question earlier this week. I replied with a lot of the same information, plus the observation that, yes, I do feel sorry for myself every now and then, and venting like this actually helps get me past those things. I appreciate you guys being supportive as well as being patient with me as I spill my sob story. The really bad times are when I try to deal with the fact that I literally am in a little bit of pain 24/7 and have been for 35 years because of this. Sometimes that just breaks through and I have to stop and hide. But more importantly I also remember something my dad told me when I was younger: "I cried because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet." I almost always see folks who are way worse off than I am when I go see my surgeon and I do have vision that is good enough to let me work and drive (for now). I also have a family that loves me and friends, including a lot of you folks here, who sustain me, so I'm a lot better off than a lot of people and need to just get on with it.
I didn't mention another truism (cliche?) in my reply to SC that I fall back on when things get to me. This is one I picked up from Larry Niven, the SF author who provided my screen name in one of his characters:
"I'll have to get over this sooner or later. Why not now?"
So, what are you fixing for Sunday supper this week? Have you posted it yet? I'm only up to about post 300 as I'm taking it slow and alternating between the thread and making phone calls for our Senatorial candidate. Did you know that early voting starts this Wednesday in Tennessee and goes until November 2nd?
How is the tone of the calls going, Phsstpok? My fingers are crossed for Corker.
For sure.
7oo G's for a vacant lot!! And I all I got was a stinkin' 100 grand for some dumb cows.
That's where I'll look, but I just checked and didn't see it yet. They have changed the site considerably, however, in the last few weeks. Have you found it there?
The page I'm checking is the FNS page
http://www.foxnews.com/fns/index.html
I have gotten the transcript of the Clinton interview from there and am working on a point by point analysis of his lies. I'll post that as its own thread when I get my initial analysis done. I'm being as careful about my research as I can on that one. I had fun with the Reliable Sources transcript last week, but that was quick and dirty.
Good, any time now would be good.
