Morning all! So nice to see this thread! Was getting worried!!!!
Good morning, Alas. Time to put on a pot of coffee.
Most of us can repeat the dialogue before the other guests even say a word.
But jus what is a voter activist?
A rep from Acorn? The notorious voter fraud experts.
I'll need a nap by noon!
SUNDAY Chris Matthews Show
Woodward's book, North Korea, and a world that hates us, the 3 topics Matthews teases at the top of the show. GloriaBorger, Bob Woodward, Andrea Mitchell, and David Brooks make up the panel.
Nope, not gonna cover this Bush blood bath, it's too predictable, everyone is critical of Bush, brutally so, even Brooks, the only surprise, Matthews didn't mention Foleygate in the opening.
The panel is psycho-analyzing Bush. "Matthews says, Bush is in two levels of denial, to the public and to himself." (Good God, let's commit him to a mental institution!! )
"Yes", 8 to 4 of Matthews' favorite reporters agree, Bush is looking for an exit strategy.
LOL, 10 minutes into the show and Matthews says to Bob Woodward, "Bob, I know you hate psycho-babble!!" (I pegged the message of this show just right...Bush needs a shrink.)
Now who is Matthews hyping more? The wisdom contained in Bob Woodward's book, or Robin Williams' new movie? (Hollywood Hardball, let's elect a comedian for president.)
Andrea Mitchell says our biggest problem is how hated we are across the world. Borger says voters in 08 will vote for someone who will rid us of our image of arrogance, a more bi-partisan candidate.
Predictions from the panel, "tell Chris something he doesn't know." (Matthews, you are the one who needs a shrink!)
Borger says we will discover Hastert knew little or nothing about Foley.
Woodward: "Bunker mentality" a republican's opinion of the Bush White House.
Mitchell said the Bushes are still very mad at Andrew Card for talking to Bob Woodward.
In Atlanta, Chris Matthews' Sunday Show is on at 6 am, while it's still dark outside...........and inside Matthews' head!
Something I just noticed by watching a replay of Beltway Boys, perhaps a theme we will hear often in the coming months.
Mort echoed Gloria Borger and the Matthews panel. Mort predicted in 08, the democrats will need to put up a candidate who is more bi-partisan. People are sick of the Bush years, don't ya know.
Mort was lamenting Mark Warner dropping out of the race, and said this will hurt democrats in 08. He said Warner would have been a good candidate in 08, when voters will be looking to end the Bush years of divisiveness. Mort and Fred agreed McCain or Guiliani fits the bill on the republican side.
I'm surprised she's not on CBS so they could shamelessly plug CSI.
In the name of sanity, I say PASS!!!
I will listen to Condi and the panel, but not sKerry.
Bush gets more favorable coverage on the Daily Show than Matthew's show these days.
"If I had been elected President......."
LOL, right as usual. :)
I always promise myself I am going to do that and before you know it I am throwing things at the TV.
Borger has long since gone over to the dark side. It's been years she's had an outside the beltway thought.
And for a final comment.....President Bush is the least partisan president we've ever had. He has remained civil, non partisan, reaching out time and again only to get stomped on by the demonrats. How come the beltway jackasses never mention that!
Good morning AB and everyone.
I'll be off most of today but try to catch what's going on later when I can. Congratulations to the winners last weekend and good luck to everyone today.
I sure hope Freepers keep the enthusiasm we're known for and not get depressed over pundits, polls and politico's who are usually wrong anyway. These guys have not gotten one major election right since Clinton won reelection. They missed Gore, Kerry and the 2002 midterm election. Maybe they think the odds are with them this time.
Now, this sunday's Media Nuggets
