I was very pleased in how the oven cooked the cake. Dad really likes this cake his mother and grandmother used to make something similar.
I found this recipe in the set that mum bought for me when I was a teenager so do not know if it is anything near the one that they made but he says that it tastes similar.
Hardly anyone under about 60 in Britain has ever heard of this cake. I like it though you have the sweet sponge cake taste and then the contrasting caraway seed taste to counter the rich cake mix.

Oh....that sounds delicious. It's also grand that you can bring back a wonderful memory for your Dad, too. Food has a way ;-)
