he flew B-17's

Wow! All I knew was that he was in the Air Force--I never guessed he flew bombers!

Thanks for posting the DOSE tonight . . . The Air Force Memorial Dedication Ceremony was absolutely AWESOME -- I particularly enjoyed the President's speech and the flyovers both by the heritage planes and the Thunderbirds!

I'm off to prepare some snacks for my daughter and her friends -- she (my daughter) is hosting a sleepover!

Until tomorrow's DOSE . . .

Nope...I didn't even know about it until today

I didn't know about it either. Just flipped on FOX and there it was. Even though you didn't get to see it in person, at least you got to see it without any interruption :)

Hi, GretchenM :)

I thought this was going to be a slow news day. I was even planning on piggy-backing on your Dose from last night ...

But the president won't give me a break :)

and my favorte poem of all time:

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings,
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft though footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sactity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
By: Pilot Officer John Gillespie Magee, Jr. (September 1941)

it had been up for a minute or two...couldn't believe my luck.

You know, when I was putting the Dose together, I thought it sure would be nice if Mystery won a toaster tonight of all nights .... It was meant to be :)
