Enjoy your Saturday visit to Sanity Island
I had a friend who was a missionary in Latvia while Latvia was still trying to come out from under the fog of Communism (late 1990's, early 2000's), and the Internet connections (dial up only) were so bad that she and her roommate would (literally) lay hands on the computer and pray HARD before and during attempts to transmit Email. Often, that was the only way it would work.
When she'd come back to the States, she would wander through the grocery stores, mumbling in wonder about all the food, having forgotten about the abundance of our food supply after nine months abroad. She said they had so many fewer shelves and so much less food to buy in Latvia it wasn't funny, but it's gotten better in the last few years. When she first went to Latvia in the 1990's, her refrigerator was what the Eastern Europeans often used: a hole dug into a hillside near her dwelling.
Anyway, sorry about your I-net connection being so shaky. It's a pain for sure.
I see that! What a surprise. Didn't know a toaster was awarded on Sunday! :)
Great suggestion, GretchenM. I'll try but they don't like my letters. Their columnists are very liberal--mostly female--and even their staff cartoonist draws very sick cartoons. It really isn't a newspaper but a mouthpiece for Pelosi, Reid, Kerry--they actually sound like an echo of the terrorists. Which is why my husband gives me a subscription to the Washington Times every Christmas. It truly is America's Newspaper. And still only $.25! Worth a dollar, at least!
Yup! ((((Snugs cranks 'em out every day!)))) re: Toasters.......
Bless her heart (seriously).
I had best go take another look at the pics, huh?
I didn't see yesterday's toaster? Maybe I looked to quickly.
Condi looks a lot more relaxed for her weekend at Camp David than she has for quite a while - thanks for piggyback dose ping
Some times, not often, tis delayed but not forgotten...Time constraints I guess.
Still waiting for Mystery's and sunshine's choices if they do not choose by tomorrow I will choose for them.
You're right about Condi. She's looked grim in the last few photos I've seen. Nice to see her smile.
You better choose, Buddy! :)
Ack--you beat me :)
Say a pray for Jonathan tonight that all goes well...please.
(((Buddy)))
*See* Ya on Mon.! I gotta run!
