Orzechowski words it a little too strongly. The theory of evolution is one philosophy of history among many, embraced in faith by people from all walks of life. It's the "useful idiot's" version of science, mistaking common form for common history.
Not that there is a lack of people willing to lie on behalf of their pet philosophy, let alone people who believe it is entitled to an exclusive hearing by law in public schools. I'd just rather think of evolution's believers as faithful followers of their own preconceived notions, as opposed to willful liars.
The same could be said of Creationists. Liars for Jahweh!
