Faith has no place in science, if it used faith, it would be useless.
It is not a moral system, you cannot base your morality on science, nor does it claim that you can, that is strictly the purview of philosophy or theology.
I can agree with this.
So THAT is what a fully fleshed Calvinisaurus looks like!
I had a Boxer that would grab those spinning fireworks that are set on the pavement.
The buzzing drove him NUTS! and he'd grab them in his mouth!
Oh yeah, he'd get burnt, but would grab the next one you'd light too!!
Philippians 3
1. Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.
2. Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh.
3. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh--
4. though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more:
5. circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee;
6. as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless.
Or the present days of AIDS, starvation, killing Danfur folks, and a life expectancy of about ZERO for 1/3 of the Nations fetuses!
The "fact" of "evolution"? You mean that we've observed that there used to be kinds of animals that aren't around any more, and there apparently are kinds of animals now that didn't used to be around?
I'd be careful about calling that "evolution." Faunal succession is pretty cut-and-dried, but (as you observe) the mechanism that drives it is the theoretical part.
I'm glad for your powerful stand. You sound like a father who ACTS like one. One who understands the Book, too!
Well, no. But there are more than a few who hold articles of faith founded on their misunderstanding of science. It's good to know you're not one of them.
and folks like her, who espouse a non-E attitude, are going to RUIN the Conservative movement!!!

Donuts.....
You got the NUMBER!!!!
ARRGH!!!
My style and content of my writing has changed over the years.
And also your history, no doubt.
Good verbiage, BlackElk.
"For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so.". Romans 8:6-7
"But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised." 1 Corinthians 2:14
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Romans 1:18-25
in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them
Romans 2:15
No, you gave me something along the lines of "My theory is that the sky's normally blue, and It'll be falsified if the sky's not blue."
I've also told you that intelligent design predicts organized matter performing specific functions.
That is not a specific prediction, only a statement of the current state of things. Your inability to grasp such concepts is one of the things that makes ID a laughingstock in science.
It does not take a supernatural creator to take matter and organize it in such a way that it performs specific functions.
So you say some normal guy has been sitting on the sidelines for the last several billion years guiding evolution?
In fact, you cannot even explain how science is able to discern the supernatural from the natural without indulging a tautology of the crassest sort.
If you're outside of the house, then by definition you're not inside.
Every time you post you are taking matter and organizing it in such a way as to perform a specific function.
That has no bearing on the subject.
You may not teach anything in my church unless you accept the authority and accuracy of the biblical texts
Good. You may not teach anything that is not science in the science classes of the public schools. Are you beginning to grasp the concept?
I'm not aware of any religion that teaches as much. Are you?
No, but I can make one right now if you'd like, and it would be just as valid as ID.
Ah, first principles. How refreshing.
Hopefully Polish schools are free of hippy dippy art teachers and modern "art" classes too. As an illustrator, this is a pet peeve 8-)
Our parish priest recently returned from a trip to Poland, and he was evidently moved by the strength of the Church in Poland. He said that people would often attend Mass 2-3 times per week.
I have yet to meet one on this thread.
