Now that depends on the circumstances. If he got the flu, or Alzheimers, or even AIDS, that's one thing. But he's dead by trauma, an investigation is called for. As someone posted, 69 is not all that old anymore to be dying from a fall. One Korean war vet, (and FReeper husband) that I know is older than that, and he still goes to work every day, and is still contributing to the National Defense, as he has pretty much since he was a 17 year old Marine recruit.
