I guess it's better than looking similar to the way nearly every Clintonista always ended up in front of the grand jury, Congressional investigatory panel or like venue, where they recited the same phrases over and over:

"I cannot recall"
"I do not remember"
"I have no recollection"

Notice VERY CAREFULLY that what "Dowd" is worried about is whether or not the HILLARY camp is upset about the accusation.

not whether ANYBODY ELSE is worried the slander and insult, but what matters to the MSM (and the Hillary camp, which is the same thing) is whether or HILLARY is upset.

If she's not complaining, there is no problem, no insult, no worries.

I have no love for McClaim, nor any regard for his abilities as a Senator or as a running-for-president-media-whore, nor even for his abilities as a pilot (although they are better than mine!) but he was captured and was in prison. he did fight, unlike the politician's son sent by his dad to go sit in the base camp writing stories like Gore did. THAT escapade was deliberately set up by Al Gore Sr to "qualifiy" his son (against Junior's protests!) for Gore to run for future office.
