A boy aged 10 has been banned from his school dining hall because his packed lunch broke the government's healthy eating guidelines.
The father of Ryan Stupples is protesting after his son was forced to eat in the headmaster's office at Lunsford primary school, Larkfield, Kent, because his lunch contained two snacks, instead of one.
Ryan's lunch consisted of a sandwich, fruit, fromage frais, cake, mini cheese biscuits and a bottle of water. The cake and the biscuits broke the snack limit. They were discovered when a teacher checked his lunch box.
Michael Stupples, 41, said: "What 10-year-old boy won't get upset when he's out of a dining hall in front of everyone and made to eat his lunch in the head teacher's office?"
Malcolm Goddard, the headmaster, said: "We take healthy eating very seriously and everyone is aware of our new policies."
"We are the food police and you will be assimilated." What a rotten place to be a kid...
Damned fascists.
Wow. Grammar school lunch gestapo.
its coming here to - you know it as well as I do.
Coming soon to a republic near you...
Does the kid weigh 200 pounds or something?
The way this was written, you'd think they found a gun and a knife in his lunchbox.
Britain should be carpet bombed with Twinkies.
Paging Mr. Orwell....
Next time pack a condom in the kid's lunch box and they'll overlook the two snacks.
Apt comment. Why fuss about this?
From my cold, dead hands.
It will indeed be happening here and people don't seem to care. I guess they don't feel the threat yet, but they will. I wonder by then if it will be too late. Electing a Democrat Congress will only hasten this loss of our freedoms.
When my kids were little I had the best time packing gag treats in their lunches. Canned pork brains, canned tripe, dried sardines, a coconut, etc. Their friends and teacher's thought I was nuts.
Naah, they'll overlook the condom. It's the snacks that worry them.
I read stories like this then ask myself if the West can survive (itself).
I went to school in the 1950's. My school didnt have a cafeteria. we carried our lunch in brown bags. At least the "cool "kids did others had lunch boxes.
We didnt have lockers either, just a space under our desks, for books we werent carrying, and our lunches.
Funny we didnt have refrigeration , but no one died from Ham with mayo or chicken salad either.
Sometimes we had candy bars or other snacks in the bag, but we seldom got to eat it. Some kid from another class would snag it while we were in another classroom attending classes. It was safer to carry it with you or eat it before school. We didnt have soda machines or snack machines either, just milk sold at lunchtime for 4 cents a half pint.
No one ever had to eat in the principles office though.
Don't give Bloomberg any ideas.
Gutless bullies.
