Well, on top of everything else, it was supposedly because of his 'drinking binge.'

Now.......we look at these pictures every day of the year, and see them together and in love, and him as sober as the summer days are long, and yet they print complete, filthy lies. WHY can they get away with it? Since when has freedom of the press meant freedom to slander at will?

Though I do not agree with his politics I agree with the Scottish politician that took the News of the World to courts and won slander charges. They said he had been unfaithful to his wife etc etc. He defended the case including putting his wife on the stand where she described intimate details including bodily hair which were not mentioned at all in the newspaper article which proved it was a bunch of lies.
