No kidding. Evangelicals sell our collective souls in the market place and in the political arena. If we focused our efforts on what we are called to do and not create a big Israel we wouldn't need to worry about everything else.

If you believe that, what are you doing on a political forum? I don't mean to be glib. I'm genuinely curious. Some of my Christian friends feel the same way you do; but they are completely disconnected from politics.

I think I have a different stand than your friends.

We (Christians) are citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of Man. God rules over both. When I am in the Kingdom of Heaven, which is modeled by the church, I need to hear Christ preached, not who to vote for. I do not abdocate any of my rights in the Kingdom of Man because of my citizenship in the Kingdom of Heaven. I can run for office, vote, and even volunteer to work for a candidate.

The difference between me and other Evangelicals is I cannot stand up and spout off that God wants candidate x to be elected. Scripture is silent on who is to run the country. Scripture doesn't forbid me from participating in most earthly activities. If I holed myself off from the Secular world, how can I do my duties of the Kingdom, which means spread the Gospel and helping my neighbor?

Hope that helps
