I tried to watch Letterman over the years and I just cannot do it. Leno's monologue can be funny sometimes but it has been a while since I watched him as well.
I did like number 6 though: "Invited Mel Gibson to come over and watch "Yentl""

11. She takes off her bra. She's actually done that. Not a pretty sight. OTOH, she's an old lady, she's earned the right to droop. :)

"Am I the onliest one who thinks that is just plain lame? Has David Letterman ever been funny? I must be missing that gene or something."David Letterman has NEVER said a funny thing. I believe his audiences are paid to laugh when the sign comes on.

Remember when Mel Gibson was brought into the Sheriff's Station in Malibu after his arrest last July? A female deputy was standing there, looking right at him. Mel turned his head to her and said, "What are you looking at, sugar t*ts?" I'm sure he would never use that term when looking at Babs!

"by her lashing out at A Bush supporter This is NOT true....there were plenty of Bush supporters there....lots of boos...when she used the 'F' bomb lots and lots of her audience LEFT... ;o)"
WHERE pray tell did you read that?! Have a link?

8. At conclusion of "The Way We Were," bites off the head of a bat
That one really struck me as funny.
Especially because I was flipping back and forth between Letterman and Leno and a few minutes before the Top Ten Leno was joking about Babs and used that line.
Said during one of her songs, she bit the head off of a bat.
GRATE minds love cheeze.

Any one of us could make up 10 such signs that are many times funnier, and Letterman has a staff of writers.
But it's also his delivery. Letterman has never had the magic that makes a man funny. Red Skelton had it. Jack Benny had it. Letterman does not have it. The funniest joke dies when he tells it.
Watching Letterman is like watching test patterns.
Comedy today is mostly un-funny. If you don't think so try laughing at anything Whoopi Goldberg says.
