There are two rookeries in the National Park. One of them is maybe 1/4 mile from where this pix was taken. If you have never seen the pix of their nests they are really funny. BIG sticks & no "fluffy stuff".. amazing the eggs don't fall out. All the birds nest together in many nearby trees. Many nests to a tree. I have a lot of pix but rather than find them, work them up, I will see if I can find something via Goggle

I think I have mentioned to you before...Herons are magnificent birds. I had to
confront one who was too close to our goldfish/koi pond.
Whoa!! They are much bigger when they feel like they are under attack. Much more so than when they are looking for food.
