Can't argue with you there!! It was very sick.
I was young at the time, but I remember, while he was over there, in my mind I had built him up to be a giant, a hero. We have a very large family (Rick is the oldest of the 12 of us) and we all went, with Mom and Dad, to pick him up. I saw him and was shocked. As young as I was I remember thinking "my God, he is just a kid!" He was still a hero to me, I just remember being struck by how young he was to have gone through so much. I expected him to look older.
We all of course, beamed with pride, and still do! I am proud of each and every one of our boys we served! No matter where it was or when. As our country should be.

That is very nice to hear. Please send your brother my sincere thanks.
I can't imagine going through something like that, and am very thankful that we have so many brave Americans who are willing to on our behalf.
Like I said, they're all heros to me!
