Actually, after reading the initial article and much of the thread, it appears that "trapped" means that they were trapped in Mexico since only the US exit was blocked by the one unfortunate who really was stuck. Ironically, we may have spent resources to free some of those "trapped" in order to give them orders to appear later which won't be followed.

FR was being labeled a "hate site" before I ever signed up for an account. Fat lot of good it did the labellers, as FR is more influential today than ever. To address your list:
Non-RINO repubs who lurk here will know that what we say is truth, not hate.
Network admins who control access for the cubicle-bound don't determine what sites are acceptable and what sites aren't, management does. I know because I have done that job. And you shouldn't be surfing the Internet at work, anyway, you should be working.
"The general poplace"? When you find a representative thereof, let them speak for themselves.
Credibility comes from truth. We have long since been called every bad name ever invented; Rather-gate had the momentum it had because it was true, period, and was still pooh-poohed by the folks who call us all the names you would have us self-censor to avoid.
Truth > name-calling
A person who would withhold the truth to curry favor with those who don't care for truth is a spineless weakling who believes in nothing.

Don't know about you, but I have no problem with the "hate" list you have. It's good to have something to keep oneself occupied, hold blameful, and to commiserate about with others. Releasing pent-up emotions is a good thing......

The illegals will sue the USGS for not having spoil along the US-Mexico Border that can sustain a tunnel.

OK. Take it up with the moderators, then. There's a [Report Abuse] button. You can use it to contact moderators.
I for one, don't wish to get the Mods involved on any thread. There are occasions where posters berate and slander others with, what seems to be, utter immunity from the Mods. Looking from the outside in, this might appear to be some form of favoritism. I want to assume this forum is fair and balanced but, I've been given the impression some posters hold higher stature than others. Is this, pardon the expression, blowhardism or does it have some relevancy? What are your thoughts on this issue?

I really don't have any idea. I don't know who any of the moderators are, nor do I know anything about any favoritism. I suppose that the moderators also are posters here, but don't know that, either, for sure.
I use the "abuse" button for three things:
1. To call attention to bogus posts or posts that are distinctly in the wrong section of FR. Most often, such posts get moved to other parts of FR than News/Activism, or get pulled, if they're really egregious.
2. To call attention to posts that contain calls for illegal acts or violence against anybody. These I click abuse on to prevent them from becoming the voice of Free Republic. Generally, the posts get pulled, but not always. It's not my job to argue with the moderators, so I don't.
3. To call attention to posts containing person attacks on other FReepers. I never do this to any post that is attacking me, however...only when the attack is against someone else. Again, I do this sparingly, too, and most of the time, the post in question gets pulled.
From my understanding, Jim Robinson does not want any of those types of posts on Free Republic. It's clearliy stated in the rules what is and is not allowed.
My goal is to keep Free Republic operating as a working, useful forum for ideas. My ideas are not always closely in tune with Jim's, so I try to tread lightly here.
Who the moderators are and what they think about isn't my affair. I have no idea.

The Rodenator, eh? That kills tunneling rodents. Is that what you're suggesting we do to the human beings in this tunnel? Shame on you!WTF is wrong with some of these posters?
I am against open borders, think we need to start deporting, and think a fence should only be the start of our enforcement. But what some posters here are advocating is beyond the pale!
And for those whining about you being a thread cop - they need to grow up and realize that we conservatives police ourselves. That's part of what makes us 'better' than liberals.

I just do what seems right to me. Sometimes that involves reporting what I think is abuse. Those who have a problem with that are not my concern.
I don't hide my disagreement with some posts. Besides posting to the individual in some cases, I also click the [report abuse] button to call the moderators' attention to the post. I know that the mods can't read every post made here.

Thanks for your input! I hate to tread lightly so, I guess it's best to ignore posters who have no sense of decency and concentrate on those who wish civil debate.

This tunnel was dug/built by those that "build buildings & grow food" here. Real quality work...
