Foley's Fall Spotlights Growing 'Velvet Mafia' Influence in GOP
Agape Press ^ | 10/9/6 | Fred Jackson and Bill Fancher

Amid the fallout of the Mark Foley scandal, one consequence appears to be an increasing exposure of the influential role homosexuals have within the Republican party. As the New York Times reported Sunday, homosexuals in the Republican Party -- sometimes known by insider slang terms including the "velvet mafia" or the "pink elephants" -- are a well-established force in the GOP.

According to the Times, many of these homosexual Republicans "have held crucial staff positions for decades," and this has been even more the case in recent years. "They have played decisive roles in passing legislation, running campaigns and advancing careers," the article notes.

And although "gay" GOP members have had to be, in most cases, more discreet about their lifestyle than their counterparts in the Democratic Party, the Mark Foley scandal -- and the recent confirmation of the Florida congressman's homosexuality -- has put a new spotlight on just what influence these homosexuals have within the Republican Party.

As the Times observes, conservative blogs and websites have stated that homosexual staff members played principle roles in investigating the Foley case, suggesting that the party has been betrayed by homosexual men trying to hide misconduct by one of their own.

The newspaper also says a group of homosexual activists has started a document known as "the list," a roster of homosexual congressional staff members and their Republican bosses. The list, the Times suggests, is an apparent attempt to force homosexual Republicans working in and around the Capitol to be more open about their lifestyle choice.

Meanwhile, one pro-family activist is calling for more openness about another aspect of the scandal. Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth believes the media have taken great pains to avoid using the words "homosexual" or "gay" in coverage of the Foley scandal. "There's clearly an effort here to make this somehow a pedophile issue or something that's separate from the homosexual issue," he asserts, "and, of course, this is right up the homosexual alley."

There is a well-documented history of homosexual men pursuing underage boys, LaBarbera says; but homosexual activists are getting help in burying this fact. "What we're seeing here," he contends, "is another effort by the media, working with the gay lobby, to separate out Foley's predations on a teenage boy from the homosexual issue."

The media is not being intellectually honest about the Foley situation or the pattern that it illustrates, the pro-family activist insists. "There's a long history of homosexuals being predators on teenage boys," he says.

"The fact is, if you go all the way back to the days of ancient Greece, there were homosexual relationships between adult men and teenage boys; so it's really ridiculous to say this has nothing to do with homosexuality," LaBarbera notes. He says the media's reporting of the Foley scandal has been marked by a great deal of political correctness, while the media have actually helped homosexual activists bury the truth.

So long as the PC-crap continues, afraid of offending the faggots and dykes is ruining the Republican Party, simply through the fear of Judicial Activist judges ruling in favor of the deviates as a 14th Amendment contortion.

Get the queers back behind closed doors, and the fear of discrimination lawsuits and activist rulings will be removed.

The standard "discrimination" claims is old hat; there must be discrimination (in the true sense of the word) to allow common sense folks to choose between right and wrong, and allow for society to establish MORAL principles, without legal intervention to forward deviant wishes....

The Republican party should go to school on what the "Lavender Mafia" has done to the Catholic church if it wants to avoid a similar disaster:

There more I hear about this, the less I like Republicans. I would expect homo's to be running the show if Demo's were in charge, but not Rep's....but that is apparently what is happening. I know it is turning off a lot of social conservatives.

You never hear Rush or Hannity talk about the homosexual influence in society and especially the schools. Which in my opinion is the greatest threat to America.

Are you series? You think that gays in schools are the biggest threat to America, not China or terrorists...

Ah but Nancy Peolsi knew the children were not being protected. (Right now it is difficult to properly identify who exactly their children are.) So how come she is taking a pass on her responsibility?

Nancy in her lust for power did far more to expose their homosexual agenda than Foley and his chatty soliciting sex friends did. Their hope for assault in all their sex talk deluge did not leave unnoticed what must be common in their own party.

The same was true of the Catholic priests'scandal. The Catholic bishops in particular went out of their way to avoid the use of the word homosexual. This was done even though the vast majoity of the priest-predators were documented to be homosexuals.

Sssshhhh, can't say anything truthful about gays on FR, the homoFRobe police will try to bust you for thought crimes.

How many times have people on FR said "this has nothing to do with Foley being gay"? And denied that he is a sexual predator? And said they'd vote for him again if they could? LOTS of people have already bought into the gay agenda -- oops, ssshhh, there's no such thing!

That is the point of such fluff stories.

This is all about people with their own agenda to depress the turnout.

There are suicidal conservatives who actually want democrats to win so they can reconsolodate their power because they are only one voice in the chorus of a majority. (they rather be a big fish in a little pond)

There are also the MSM pushing the depress the turn out strategy.

The bottom line is that Republicans FIRE homosexuals.

Vote in November,

Get your friends to vote in November.

This is what the Old Media did with the Catholic homosexual priests scandal also. You would never know that over 85% of the alleged molestation was by male priests molesting teenage boys.

The best estimates that I have seen are that roughly 70% of the U.S. bishops are homosexual. The saga goes at least as far back as the turn of 20th Century with Cardinal O'Connell in Boston.

Homosexuality is not a political problem, it is a moral problem that represents a general decline in the nation's morality.

The Party is only going to reflect that same morality.

This is the most truthful article I've seen yet on this whole mess. Nail hit head. I also have been disturbed by Rush and others freepers using terms of the left like "gay bashing". Then these same people will say we are inching to liberalism. Well, they are f*cking helping it get there!

Sad to say it but..... the facts are that the "Tolerance" that turns persons aside from their gut feeling, is a culprit. I feel fairly sure that the political correctness of "tolerance" may have forced GOOD MEN to ignore their inner conscience.

The British secret service and other agencies were infiltrated by the homosexual. The West almost lost the cold war because of the almost universal treason by homosexuals. The excuse has been used that the Russians were able to blackmail them. That was not the entire excuse by a long shot. Something in many of the homosexuals make up, seems to bring about a flaunting of the rules. A point is in the so-called "gay parades". Could such an individual obscenely flamboyant, be trusted?

Fifty years ago, the conservatives would have known - put a homosexual in a position of trust and power, WITHOUT CLOSE SCRUTINY at one's peril.

Hopefully the Foley affair has a shelf life. The opposition may have "peaked too soon". (I pray).

I caught O'Reilly last eve interviewing the guy who outed Foley. I don't recall his name but he said he's going to "out" a number of other Republicans in the next week or so... no Dems though... only 'Pubs because "they are being hypocrites and living a lie."

You step on a hornet's nest here on FR when you bring up Catholic Church pedophilia, but logic explains perfectly why so many homosexual men entered the priesthood. The church was the ultimate closet. The celibacy requirement fell right into the hands of gays, because in the broad public, it was seen as sex between men and women. Since the Homosexual Priests were not interested in women in the first place, they could practice their sexual preferences in the church, enjoy vast respect, and not have to cover their trails.
