A leftist group with strong ties to the Democratic Party and to radical billionaire George Soros may have engaged in criminal obstruction of justice in the Foley case. FBI investigators have accused the group CREW of concealing evidence of Rep. Mark Foley’s sexual misconduct over a period of several months.
George Soros’ Open Society Institute contributed $100,000 to CREW in January 2006.
“CREW is little more than a front for George Soros’ Shadow Party,” charges David Horowitz. “CREW has been withholding this evidence for months, apparently in order to release it just before the election. It is well known that Soros keeps a tight rein on groups that he funds. He and his Shadow Party cannot evade responsibility for CREW’s actions.”
The Shadow Party is a network of private political groups, organized and led by George Soros, which exerts a powerful but hidden influence over the Democratic Party, according to Horowitz.
The workings of this network are described in the newly-released New York Times bestseller THE SHADOW PARTY: HOW GEORGE SOROS, HILLARY CLINTON AND SIXTIES RADICALS SIEZED CONTROL OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, by David Horowitz and Richard Poe (Thomas Nelson, 2006).
At a press conference on Monday, October 2, CREW announced that it had been holding incriminating e-mails revealing Foley’s sexual misconduct since at least July 2006. CREW said it turned these e-mails over to the FBI in July, but the FBI failed to act.
The FBI counters that CREW provided only edited versions of the e-mails, and refused to surrender the unedited originals. Investigators say that CREW refuses to divulge where it got the e-mails, and may have been holding them since at least April 2006 – months before CREW alerted the FBI of their existence.
In response, CREW has accused the FBI of lying, thus pitting George Soros’ Shadow Party against America’s top federal law enforcement agency, in a head-on confrontation.

According to the Prowler another group called "American Family Voices" aka AFV is involved in this in some way. Unfortunatley the article was not clear on how they come in.
Interesting group... its president is a guy named Michael Lux... the group is connected to Hillary's crawdad headsucker James Carville.

Assume you mean if CREW knew of no crime committed by Foley. CREW could not be blamed for "hiding" a crime they had no substantial knowledge of. This is simply pukey politics.
CREW'S Executive Director is Melanie Crew. I happened to watch an interview with her, and she flat-out accused the FBI of lying when they say the emails were heavily re-dacted, with no evidence of an actionable crime. That was last week, mid week, as the story was breaking. After that, Sloan has disappeared, no longer "out there', hyping the accusations against Foley. Maybe flat out saying the FBI is lying was a little too strong, even for George Soros.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) wrote to the Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General's (I.G.) office today to ask for an investigation into why the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has fabricated and disseminated a cover-up story as to why it never investigated the Foley emails sent to it by CREW.
CBS News has reported that according to the FBI when CREW gave the Bureau the original set of emails from Rep. Mark Foley to a former House page, they were "heavily redacted." The FBI is also claiming that it came back to CREW and asked for more information so that it could follow up, but that CREW refused to provide anything further. Reporters from several other news organizations have repeated this allegation. The FBI is lying.
On Monday, October 2, CREW sent a letter to the DOJ I.G.'s office, attaching exact copies of the emails CREW had sent to the FBI on July 21, 2006. Both the former page's name and the person to whom the page forwarded Rep. Foley's emails were clearly visible. Moreover, after CREW sent the emails to the FBI, CREW's only subsequent contact with the Bureau was one telephone call from the special agent to whom CREW had sent the material confirming that the emails were from Rep. Foley. CREW had no further contact with the FBI.
In contrast with this new explanation for failing to investigate the Foley matter, The Washington Post has reported that an unnamed FBI official stated that the Bureau decided not to investigate after concluding that the emails "did not rise to the level of criminal activity."
Melanie Sloan, CREW's executive director said today, "the FBI cannot have it both ways; either it failed to investigate the Foley emails because they did not rise to a level of criminal activity or because it did not have adequate information to do so. Pick one.
"Attorney General Gonzales has told the public repeatedly that the investigation and prosecution of those who sexually exploit children is a top priority. We are outraged that the FBI failed to investigate Rep. Foley and is now blaming others for its inaction.
"It is time for all of those who had knowledge about Rep. Foley's conduct to step up and take responsibility for leaving a sexual predator on the loose."

Anyway, I don't care what she said on Larry King. It wasn't under oath, and after that jerk Clintonista (whose name escapes me this early in the morning) came out and lied to the entire nation about his grand jury testimony I don't believe ANYTHING leftist lawyers say. They think the entire world outside the courtroom is street theater.
