PING! Interesting article.
This ping list is for the "other" articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles.

(That's taxes, not Texas. I have no beef with TX. NJ has the highest property taxes in the nation.)

We attended a homeschool children's choir group today. I have one of the smallest families with 3 children. Most of them have 7 plus kids. One woman is pregnant with her 10th. I am in awe of these women every time we get together. I hope God lets us have more!! :o)

I think that there are two main reasons why parents don't want large families. The first is that many parents don't discipline their kids. Since their kids are brats, the parents conclude that all kids are brats, and not that they're lousy parents.
The second reason is that parents feel that they shouldn't bring kids into the world if they can't afford to send their kids to college. Well, all I have to say is, I've been to college, I knew college, and college is no John F. Kennedy.
It's a good place to learn a bunch of new vices though. And for only $20+k/year!

Five kids here (Ages 19, 14, 7, 5, 4).
I don't know any family in our area with more than five, but several families do have five.
Its rough when they're babies, but it gets to be a lot of fun as they get older. I can't remember the last time I was either bored or lonely.
