LGF reader Enlil from Gothenburg, Sweden, sent the following disturbing note:
Tonight there were power shortages all over Swedens second largest city, Gothenburg. Youth gangs took the opportunity, spreading the European tradition of Ramadan Riots. Within an hour most schools and commercial centers in the north eastern suburbs were vandalized.
- Its complete chaos in north eastern Gothenburg. Weve sent all available police units but theres no way we can stop the vandalisation, police spokesman Frank Karlsson tells gp.se.
- Several youth gangs are wandering about smashing windows and breaking into schools, malls, banks and a retirement center.
Not a word about this on the wires...
UPDATE: Its on the front page of Aftonbladet, and heres the linked story in Swedish: Vag av skadegörelse i Göteborg.

Deport. In large numbers.
The Swedes and Danes are waking up to this internal threat. Despite their dovish ways, I think we may see serious action soon from them. They recall how being dovish over the Nazi threat turned out for them and Europe.

I wrote the author of the article in the Swedish news venue and asked for a full English translation.

Ramadan is a month long fasting holiday. These poor yutes are hypoglycemic... Bah! The pigs "fast" during the day, then cram as much stuff down their throats as they can all night.
Lent for Catholic and Orthodox Christians is a much better comparison. I'm sure you remember the Great Lent Riots last spring, right?
Hmmm?
Oh, yeah ... they didn't happen. As usual.
mohammedanism is a gutter religion and a totalitarian political ideology.

Of course!
BTW, I did defend mohammad the other day.
Someone said he wasn't fit to sleep with a pig, and I informed him that he bloody well was...

There's all kind of exceptions for fasting. What's the big deal about fasting for 12 hours anyway? That big evening meal is enough to last two days. It's a big pig-out. It's just another Muslim rule that says: "Do as we say or you die"!! Cover your face, bow down 5 times a day...etc, etc, etc. None of it makes sense. There's hardly any goodness in any of these acts...they're just GOVERNMENT required.

Its complete chaos in north eastern Gothenburg. Report from the scene?
To: Wuli
If he provides one, please post it.
There's a "free" Swedish-English translator here, but when I try it I get a message "too busy" and a link to buy there software. The only other mention of this I can find is in blogs, relying on the same sources. Another thread here describing it as a riot over the power outage, no mention of the nature of the rioters. Everyone riots when the power goes out I suppose.

Nah, leave them alone. Show them how religions are supposed to operate.

I don't know if it's still done, but I've read in the past the wealthy would simply become nocturnal during Ramadan, sleeping during the day and partying at night.

The authorities should fire bomb the local mosques. I'm so sick of this s**t. Wonder how bad France is gonna look this year.

Sure there is. Shoot just a few of them. The rest will pause to rethink their vandalism, and leave.

I don't know if it's still done, but I've read in the past the wealthy would simply become nocturnal during Ramadan, sleeping during the day and partying at night. Having lived in Saudi Arabia through a couple of ramadans, that's true. But it's not just the wealthy- pretty much the whole country just flops their schedule, day becomes night and vice versa. It was not uncommon to arrive at some government facility at 10:30 in the morning and everyone is in their offices asleep!

A large number of police officers were sent to deal with the disturbance, but the youths turned on them, hurling stones in the dark. Send in the Florida Swat Team and give them more ammunition this time.
