President Bush addresees the nation from the White House 09:45AM ET
They are in Paris worried that they might do something to provoke more car burnings by Muslim youth.
I wish the talking heads would just shut up until the President arrives.
No he said it about North Korea.
I expect we'll be getting (at least) another very strong hint that Japan has nukes that are all but assembled. They've already got the requisite missile capability. China
... but I don't know what China's response has been.
I think it will depend on Japan's response. NK is nothing to them, but a nuclear Japan probably scares them to death.
THAT WOMAN needs to have her pic w/ kim posted in every thread concerning NK. (Thanks for posting it mag)
Calls for action by the United Nations...
Don't get too carried away, wouldashouldacoulda.
At that time, Stalin would've had to have backed Mao completely. He didn't want Imperial Japan approaching his border in the first place, he certainly wouldn't mind throwing more bodies to keep a nuclear USA of the continent.
The "greatest generation" was tired of that war, and wasn't going to have it all out with Uncle Joe.
And in the end, then what? Perhaps if we had unified Korea at that time, they would have had 50 years to becomes a socialist "ally" the likes, of, say...France?
Who are the only friends we have in Europe? The East Bloc that we also didn't let Patton free.
"International community will respond"
"UN security council"
As if to say Bush "lost" North Korea. All because he wouldn't agree to some harmless little two-party talks.
Love to have a record of that...!
Last night the government of NK declared to the world they conducted a nuclear test; we're working to confirm.
The US condemns this provocative act and the international community will respond.
This was confirmed by talks I had with leaders of China, Japan and S. Korea. NK's actions are unacceptable. The regime remains the world's leading proliferator of nuclear technology.
Transfer of this material to non-state entities wuold be considered a threat by the US and we'd hold them fully accountable for such actions.
We're committed to diplomacy and we'll continue to protect ourselves and our interests. The US will meet the full range of our deterent and security commitments.
I think I'll just stick with the definition used in my tagline.
I think N. Korea already had nukes before 2000. I don't recall the President stating that, It was Iran.
Japan can build nukes at a drop of the hat, but then Taiwan and S. Korea will want them too. S. Korea can do it probably now. Taiwan could if they wanted. China will wig out about that of course. We need to stop N. Korea before it gets out of control. They have had 50 years to get rid of this thug and his dad, they might need to be collateral damage. Stone age em.
spoke to leaders of china, south korea russia and japan
they reaffirmed commitment to nuclear
actions Unacceptable and deserve and immediate response by the UN security council
US remains committed to diplomacy
reaffirmed to allies that U.S. will meet full range of deterrent or security commitments.
Threats will not weaken resolve of the U.S. and its allies
"today's claim serves only to raise tensions while depriving the North Korean people."
"The oppressed and impovershed people of North Korea deserve a brighter future."
No President Bush said it about North Korea...as a matter of fact FOX News just restated what I said. So yes it was North Korea (and I am sure he said it about Iran as well)
does anyone have a live feed?
the one listed above is apparently for viewing AFTER as a video
