Blitzer To GOP Rep: "Yes Or No: Do You Have Any Evidence" That Dems Knew About Foley Emails?
CNN ^ | 8-10-06 | Wolf Blitzer

Posted on 10/08/2006 3:11:29 PM PDT by giuliani77

BLITZER: So what you're suggesting -- and correct me if I'm wrong, because you've been doing this for the last few days -- that Democrats are behind the timing of the release of this information? Is that your accusation?

MCHENRY: Well, look, all the fact points lead to one question: Did Rahm Emanuel or Nancy Pelosi have any involvement on the strategic or tactical level? This morning on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," the question was asked of Rahm Emanuel. His reaction was he did not see the instant messages or e-mails. He repeatedly said, he did not see. I've asked him to testify under oath to assure the American people that he was not involved in this issue in any way, shape or form.

BLITZER: Do you have any evidence at all that Democrats or others might have been behind the timing of this scandal?

MCHENRY: Look, let's be honest...

BLITZER: Do you have any evidence to back that charge up?

MCHENRY: No, no, actually, if the Democrats had any issue with saying this, putting all the facts out on the table, they would say, certainly, I'll testify under oath that I had no involvement in it. They've said no.

BLITZER: Well, you don't have any evidence, though, right?

MCHENRY: Well, look at the fact points.

BLITZER: Yes or no, do you have any evidence, Congressman?

MCHENRY: Do you have any evidence that they weren't involved?

BLITZER: I'm just asking if you're just throwing out an accusation or if you have any hard evidence.

MCHENRY: No. It's a question, Wolf. The question remains, were they involved? And if they were not involved, they need to say clearly. And it's a question. It's not an accusation.

BLITZER: Well, they are denying that they had anything to do with this.

It's up to the Democrats to prove they didn't see the emails.

Her Blitzer! Do you have any evidence that any sort of crime was comitted, or that Republicans "copered anything up"?

Hmph...you don't sound like you believe that. I still wanna know what sane, rational person would insist on going by the name Wolf. Apparently he thinks it makes him sound tough.

It's a legitimate question - even a broken clock is right twice a day. If there is solid evidence, out with it. Traditional GThey should do something.

Then why was the GOPer hesitant? Out with it - use it or lose it. Enough of easily befuddled GOPers - they need some cojones.

If McHenry had any evidence, Blitzer would never have had him on.

i watched this exchange with glee! McHenry clearly infuriated Blitzer who got snarly with him, very unprofessional. You could tell Blitzer didn't like the dems being blamed for any wrong doing, not one bit. I loved seeing McHenry get Blitzer's goat just as he had Chris Matthews a few days ago.

Finally, a republican who dares fight

Geeze! Hang on , buddy! The FBI is working on it. The democrats aren't hiding under their desks for nothing, you know. They can't run from the questioning forever.

Hey Blitzer, X42 DENIED "with a wagging finger" that he had sex with that woman! Stop pretending that DEMS are honest. We know better!

Wolfie would never ask that kind of question of a Democrat.

Oh yes, the Pubbies must have impeccable evidence. The rats can just make stuff up like Dan Rather and they are to be believed!

The GOPer may not have the facts but is concerned the Rats *refuse* to say, UNDER OATH, they had no involvement. The Rats should have no problem testifying under oath about what they knew and when they knew it.

There was a time where the Rats believed such a thing from a Republican would be tantamount to an admission of involvement!

McHenry Calls The Big Bluff (Pelosi refuses to testify under oath over Foley communications

While Blitzer's asking questions, hows about he asks Pelosi about that...

Yes. Actions speak louder than words. The bags over the democrats heads are a bad choice of cover. The bags are transparent. We can see right through them.

They can run, but they can't hide.

The accusation reeks of desperation. If they have anything to back it up, GOP House leaders should provide it immediately. Now THAT would get attention!

Democrats agreeing to testify under oath...THAT would help solve things. Hastert called for a full investigation. Why should Democrats be exempt?
