COULTER: No. Actually, I don't really like any of our front-runners.

COULTER: I think it's going to be somebody else.
O'REILLY: I think it's going to be Mitt Romney.
COULTER: Actually, of the ones they talk about ... he's my favorite. It's somebody out of the blue.
O'REILLY: I think Mitt Romney is the guy on the inside track that very few people know about.
I'm not surprised; I think he's a terrific candidate.
It's a very tough call. I'll bet many GOP voters don't make up their minds until the last possible moment.
Better to help the working poor buy their own health insurance than to have them uninsured and the state pays the entire bill.

That's what OReilly bases his support for people on, whether or not they agree to appear on his show.
As far as Coulter goes, maybe she has the "hots" for Mitt.
Not easy getting elected in Massachusetts.. you have to be mealy mouthed.. or MAss voters think you believe in the truth.. and not the lies they believe in..

It's a little early yet I think to take a realistic look at the candidates.
I'm still hopeful that someone like Haley Barbour will jump in the race, anything to keep all these stinkin' senators out of the WH.
Look at recent history of the political roots of Presidents:
GW Bush: southern gov.
B Clinton: southern gov.
SHW Bush: souther congressman.
R Reagan: western gov.
J Carter: southern gov.
G Ford: (not elected Pres or VP)
R. Nixon: western congressman/senator;
L. Johnson: southern senator;
J Kennedy: northeastern senator;
D Eisenhower: (born in south; no previous political roots);
H Truman: southern senator;
Anyone see a trend here? With the exception of Kennedy (who won by one of the narrowest margins in history, and probably stole the election), you have to go back to Roosevelt (60+ years) to find a President with northeastern roots.
I'm making a point about elect-ability, not competence. Obviously, we don't want a candidate to mimic Bill Clinton or surely Jimmy Carter, but they did win at least a plurality of votes.
He does have an interesting tie-in to the reddest of the red states and the bluest of the blue states. Still, I'm not really enthused about him and I can't say why.I can say why, in one word: Mormonism.
Not that I personally hold that against him. He's proven to my satisfaction in Mass that he governs as a political leader, not as a Mormon. I would vote for him (if he gets the nomination) and have no qualms about his faith.
But I have great fear that Mormonism will turn off a great many people who would otherwise vote for anybody but Hillary.
Mormonism is too freaking freaky. The people of Mass didn't worry about it, and it proved not to be a problem.
But I don't trust the national electorate -- choosing their next President -- not to worry about it.
And that's what worries me about Mitt.
His father was governor of Michigan for more than a decade. It wasn't a problem then. Ezra Taft Benson was Eisenhower's Secratary of Agriculture for eight years while holding a high office in the Mormon Church. Again, no problem. Then there was Reagan-- He had at least one Mormon in his cabinet, maybe two. I don't recall their (or his) name. But no problem came of it. So thinking it could be a problem is pretty backward thinking.
Romney is just another fancy-pants liberal. So is his wife.
But in the last two weeks, O'Reilly said he's seeing a lot of reasons to give Romney an edge. "He's photogenic. He's articulate. He's got money. New Hampshire likes him. This guy . . . you watch him," O'Reilly said.He looks good in pictures and on the tube, he speaks good, he's got money and New Hampshire likes him.
This speaks not at all of what he stands for or any of his positions. Seems ridiculous to tout someone for president for those reasons.
Heck, in this cycle (2008 prez) even Huckabee took out Romney!
Now he (almost) is endorsing him. (2011)
