Exactamundo. The time to change the players is in the primaries. Now is not the time to undermine our elected officials. We cannot allow the dems one inch or they'll over-run us.

Our President needs our help.

I was a little rude in my response. Im sorry.

No problem. It's all good! You're not the enemy. The Democrats are.

I just listened to Laura....and she basically indicted herself.

The first thing she said was how "everyone" came out in the first few days...finger pointing and demanding resignations and stuff...before they knew all of the information...

That would be HER...if anyone reads the threads of her shows last week....you will see that we saw her doing just that...and when she interviewed Denny Hastert, she was so condescending and rude, I would be surprised if Hastert ever agrees to go on her show again.

However, she was 180 from that tonight.

unless you didn't know he was gay..and would NEVER vote for a gay person, regardless of his/her behaviour...from what I have read in samantha's posts..he was a GOOD representative..as far as doing his job for his constituents...

Therefore, why NOT vote for him...IF this was unknown, or even if some of this is lies.

I think there may be something fundamental that even we are overlooking here.  We are falling prey to the same prejudices and stereotypes about conservatives, even "Christian conservatives" that the Democrats are counting on for this to work.  They have bought their own propaganda that all of us are like those loons from Kansas protesting at veteran's funerals because they see all of our problems in Iraq as punishment from God for allowing the scourge of gays to go unchallenged.

I am not a gay activist, by a long shot.  I object to and work against the "gay agenda" as well as object to the selling of the gay lifestyle in school.  I also feel that discrimination laws that require people to accommodate gays in their private property (particularly housing) is none of the governments business.  Having said that, I could give a damn what two men or two women do in the privacy of their own home.  I have a feeling that that is the attitude of 90% or more of self described conservatives.

I mean, I would object to a "flaming queer" teaching my kindergartner about "Tommy has two daddies."  I would also object to Anna Nicole Smith teaching that same class about lap dancing.  In an earlier post I related how everyone reacted to Nathan Lane coming out with "we knew" and an implied "we didn't care."  It didn't make me want to boycott The Lion King because he did a voice for it.  I objected to Ellen Degeneres' "coming out" prime time event because being a lesbian became the only thing she was and, most importantly, she was no longer funny.  I've always enjoyed everything I've seen Harvey Fierstein in and he's always been openly gay.  Would I want him to date my son?  Hell no.  Do I want to burn him at the stake?  Not a chance.

I think the calculations of all of the pundits and pollsters are based on assumptions about conservatives that just aren't true.  I think they're in for a big surprise.

I also get the feeling from comments from folks "who know" (my family is involved in theater... go figure) that the gay community is furious at the Democrats.  I'm getting rumbles of an active campaign to "teach them a lesson."  This election could end up with a lot of very surprised people standing there as winners, on the same side, and wondering "what the hell do we do now?"

And Nancy Pelosi will be truly saddened.

D@mn Russert....what a loser!

He asks Senator Talent: "Do you agree with the President when he says that some Democrats feel the best way to protect the American People is to wait until we are attacked again?"
Talent: "Well, I think they are some people in Washington, and some people that would like to go to Washington have taken a position of weakness in the war on Terror."
Russert: THEY WANT US TO GET ATTACKED AGAIN?"

THis is an outrageous statement by Russert. What a b@stard. That is NOT even close to what Talent answered. Yet the Lemmings in this country probably gasped when Russert said that and will think Talent actually said it! What a manipulative tactic--a rotten twist of words, blatant dishonesty on Russerts part. That fat ugly chipmunk should be hung..but I digress

I disagree....

I think we are not being honest with ourselves...

the DC beltway knows far more than we do about all sorts of problems there. They have a little club... no one "outs" anyone- but if someone "else" outs you- then everyman for themselves....CYA, etc, etc....

They ALL do it...

I think once all the facts come out..it will be clearer for most of us.

I have been as clear as I know how to be... but keep getting accused of hysteria- or hurting the Republicans....

frustrating....

I don't mind disagreeing... not at all- but being accused of hysteria or believing the DBM lies, or helping the dems is just ridiculous......

I am harder right than most...

Yeah, everyone knew about "Babs" being gay. I would bet money that Chuckie Schumer is, he sure looks and sounds gay,and he really looks at home in the Gay parade every year.LOL! We ought to start a list of Congress critters and DBM that we think are still in the closet. DBM # 1 Monkey Boy Gregory,#2 Dana Milbank.

Uhhhh... there is this guy I know, uhhh..oh yeah MNJohnnie that constantly tells us don't expect to get everything you want.
The Speaker of the House could well be in one of those positions where he has to compromise more than he (or we) ever dreamed to get anything done at all, just a guess.

Pay no attention to the polls. They are designed to lower the turnout for republicans.

LOL!!!

I think Hastert can do BETTER.. I think we can do better than Hastert..

I did cover the fact that I am not wanting Hastert to resign....

I did cover that I think we should all come out in DROVES and SEAL up the Republican control of COngress= right?

I am not even beginning to suggest that we replace Hastert with Pelosi... talk about getting hysterical....

I am talking about us getting SERIOUS about the dang PRIMARIES and flushing out the steenking RINO's or the ones who want to play DC games- and TERM LIMITS....

WE CAN DO BETTER- within our own party.....that is my point...

Isn't is maddening the depth of deception that the media and liberals will go to to slander the Repubbies? I hope to God that it comes out in the media that the Dems SAT ON THE IM's for 6 months...putting kids at risk (THEIR words)to slam the Repubbies one month before election. Please God...let it be all over CNN and MSNBC. Please let the truth be known to ALL STUPID PEOPLE in the world. (AKA: Democraps)

I don't think expecting Hastert to do a better job bashing... LOL!

In the present environment, it is bashing. It really is. And it isn't even bashing him for specific things, it is nebulous.

Perfect is the enemy of the good. Always has been, always will be.

if you're happy with the way the Replicans are running things... good for you....

The way to correct this is at the ballot box, not by bashing people who are true blue Conservatives, like Hastert.

Putting Shepard Smith in charge of FNC is like putting Foley in Charge of the boy scouts as punishment.

This BS, I remember the 2004 story by shepard smith trying to BS that homosexual marriage bans would outlaw hetersexual cohabitation contracts.

No wonder FNC is all "homo" on the Foley scandal.

See my #745. I'm hearing the same things.

Gays who happen to be conservative also tend to be very libertarian. "It's just none of anyone elses business" is the core of their viewpoint. For that reason they also object to "gay marriage" because that implies the right of the government to regulate their relationship. Frankly they just don't see an upside to that at all. Are there things they disagree with Republicans and other conservatives about? Oh yeah. Are there things I disagree with Republicans and other conservatives about? Well duh! If you haven't noticed you haven't been paying attention! That's what makes us conservatives and that's what makes FreeRepublic. Except for the Perotistas and Buchannanites we can allow others to think for themselves and enjoy when we find areas of agreement while we also tend to enjoy discussing our differences.

I'm beginning to get a very good feeling about this whole thing and the eventual effect on the election.

Someone ought to ask Rosie O'Donnell what she thinks of her lovely party now?? Actually, a lot of her buddies in Hollywood, too.

The new newsweak poll is like the KERRY WILL WIN WE ARE DOOOOOOOMED! poll in 2004.

The problem is they are going after the ignorant mushy middle.

Is anybody watching the Diebold Machines? Remember the Princton demonstration of FNC. (also posted on http://www.YouTube.com) which shows how EASY it is to reprogram diebold machines.
