I have heard the same thing. It may be Democrats were working of the thirty day media prohibitions (Thank you again, Senator McCain). And they planned on more dribbling out over time to affect the election. I don't think they considered Foley would resign so quickly or that the Republican leadership would take steps on this so fast.

Their focus groups approved the words they could use to put themselves in the best light but failed to consider their own past bad behavior.

I really do anticipate this backfiring on them quicker than they realized it would.

Sick world we live in right now.

I really pray the conservative base of the GOP wakes up before November 7th.

There is too much riding on this election and I really feel the future of this country is the biggest thing at issue.

Back in 1992, James Carville invented a slogan to keep the Clinton Campaign focused on the "winning" issue:

"It's the economy, stupid!"

Well ours should be, "It's the media, stupid!"

(Said to dumb Republicans who willingly go onto these DNCJournalist shows and think the media will be fair with them. They need to be as combative as Ann Coulter or Mark Levin!....

Or FReepers!!!!)

Budget Deficit Drops to $250 Billion
AP ^ | October 6, 2006 | ANDREW TAYLOR

Posted on 10/06/2006 12:19:40 PM CDT by West Coast Conservative

The federal budget estimate for the fiscal year just completed dropped to $250 billion, congressional estimators said Friday, as the economy continues to fuel impressive tax revenues.

The Congressional Budget Office's latest estimate is $10 billion below CBO predictions issued in August and well below a July White House prediction of $296 billion.

The improving deficit picture _ Bush predicted a $423 billion deficit in his February budget _ has been driven by better-than-expected tax receipts, especially from corporate profits, CBO said.

"###### Dana Milbank of the Washington Post taking six months leave to write a book."

Is this effective immediately or is he staying in until the election is over?

Hey, Miss Marple, did you see this?

Hello,

That is an interesting point about the 30-day media restrictions, and one I had not thought about. Would waiting until after the 30 ~ days ~ out ~ date stopped the DBM on this "scandal", though? (I guess I'm confused, as usual...LOL!)

Glad to be here, MOgirl

I don't know for sure but think Rush and Hannity mentioned it on Friday. I sent it off, included with other information, in some e-mails last week. Otherwise, too many people are caught up on the Foley issue.

I did see it. I have a couple thoughts:

1. When is he leaving? (I hope soon.)

2. What is the subject of his book? My guess is a hit piece on whoever he thinks will be the Republican nominee.

Absolutely Johnnie. The deficit's down because REVENUE is up. Revenue is up because taxes are low, allowing the investing class to well, you know, invest!

We'll keep telling folks, Speaker Pelosi will raise taxes, especially on investors, who will invest, well, you know, less. There goes the economy, back in the tubes.

See, on this democrats have lost the debate; the proof is right there for all to see how helpful the Bush tax cuts have been. But not according to the DBM. No, they've LIED about the economy, and caused a bunch of folks to think things are economically bad. Yet the facts show otherwise, if only they are told!!!!

The power of the press. Let's fight them!!!

The 30 days is prior to the election so it is harder to counter an attack like this. The media reports on this as news, not attacking a candidate, which we all know they are doing. At least, that's how I see it from here. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone on FR will correct me.

That's what Iraq is all about killing the threat

True enough.

But not for the rats. Iraq is just another sochsa security, border, budget,Foley, etc. issue to look good about, that has to be spun their way.

They will lie about it, take both sides on it, pretend it isn't there when it's convenient and do what ever seems necessary at the time,or should I say "expedient". Since that's what the dnc/rat party is all about expediency.

What ever position they need at the time is the right one. And with a DBM to confirm their positions, they think they can't lose, trouble is that's where we come in with people like MNJ stating the truth from the expedient.

#376, it is really extraordinary how so many gays that are still in the closet will masquerade with the Prettiest Woman around on their Arm. Some times these women know that they are "fag Hags",and sometimes they are oblivious. Most are well compensated and will live their own life while their Hubby or "Fiance" live theirs. If they have Children, they are set for life, and most people sort of keep quiet for the sake of the Children.

I was conservative before reading Ayn Rand but her books provided me the reasoning and understanding that supported my beliefs. She helped me counter the university profs who kept spouting the leftist line.

tony Perkins was a state rep of La. In 1996, he was involved in the failed Senate campaign of Woody Jenkins. In 2002, he tried for Senate himself. Lost in the primary. After that he became the head of the Family Research Council.
