Varney is a much better host than Gigot. I really like Gigot, but he doens't haven't the on-air personality that Varney has. Varney was the host of the show when it was on CNBC back when, and when it was on for a full hour. I wish FNC would make the show a full hour and keep Varney as the host, and Gigot as a panel member. It is a good show.

Just donate to the RNC, NRCC, and the NRSC -- which know best where to distribute the money.

I would like to see more of Varney and less of some of the other people on Fox...especially Marvin Kalb and Wesley Clark.

"Value Voters" vote for the party that gives voice, presents, writes, and passes legislation that they agree with.

No Conservative "value voter" will then allow the Dem Party to take over Congress.

It is not fair, wise, or rational to preach otherwise.

What is inconsistent or inaccurate in any of this?

The problem was what she was saying on her show all week.  "Hastert must have known."   "I can't believe that Hastert didn't know.  That just strains credulity."  "It's just not believable that they didn't do anything about this unless they were trying to protect the seat."

She got caught up in what the Drive By Media was selling and bought their version of "The Truth."  She had Hastert on her show Friday, was apparently quite respectful and appears to be back on the right path.  I think she's wrong in pushing the "let's just move on" idea.  That let's the dhimmicrat lies stand.  I think the story that must come out of this is the story of how George Soros funded organizations coordinated this, most likely with the DCCC and DNC, as a planned political sliming.

The key factor for me is the threat by Mike Rogers and CREW to out more "gay Republican" office holders and staffers, starting Monday.  Rogers has been up front that he used information to blackmail a sitting US Senator, reportedly over the Alito vote.  The only "Republican" who voted against Alito is Lincoln Chaffee.  If that turns out to be true that is a major felony and a scandal to make Watergate look extremely minor.  Senior members of the Dhimmicrat party could do serious jail time if they had knowledge of that little "dirty trick."

Cornyn...and I agree, he'd be good.

Ref #249, It is true that almost everyone knew that Mark is Gay,and we trusted him to only be with Adults of the same persuasion. I have never seen him ogle,or even look admiringly at a Young Man. HE is friendly, outgoing, funny, and is attentive to Men and Women of all ages. When I lived in Broward County 8 years ago,it was no secret that Mark was gay,and he was very good friends with my Congressman at the time Robert Wexler, who had a Very, very Gay aide that always seemed to answer the phone when I would call to complain about the Idiot Wexler. Wexler/Foley used to be on the Talk Shows in Palm Beach and Broward County together, and even though I knew about Mark, I would have picked Wexler as being gay way ahead of Mark. When I got Mark as a Congressman when I moved to the 16CD from the 19CD, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven, and for the most part he did not fail us until now. We all really are still hurting here,we lost someone we really cared for and liked along with all his long time employees that were just the Best at what they did. Right now we really do not have a Congressman at all and have to rely on two Idiots if we need anything. Senile old cracker Bill Nelson, and Mel Martinez,no comment.

Move the troops to Kuwait. Withdraw from Iraq but not really...

Moving our troops to Kuwait with a hostile government in Iraq and Iran puts our troops in danger of a chemical or biological attack from a close enemy. Far better to withdraw completely, beyond a "no-warning" line, than to expose our troops to danger. Even better, or course, elimiatre the hostile government.

" Foley didn't "do" pages, he just "flirted" so he could "do" them after they left the program and were consenting adults. That according to the LA Times today."

Foley used the page program as his own version of eHarmony.
But, he waited to date until after his prospects were no longer pages and of age.
Too bad the Republican leadership went along with the Democrat mantra that Foley abused and sexually assaulted children.
IMHO- Hastert's constant groveling and talking about children-made things worse.

Did Foley? Or was his crime only verbal sex??

Sheesh. Some former congressional Page with no morals is out and about saying he had a sexual relationship with Foley. But he was 21 AT THE TIME.

A)Go with me here...if this fellow is a homosexual, 21 and willing, what the hell's wrong with that? Okay, I think 21 years old is a bit young to be messing with an over-51 year old but does anyone remember Monica? The sound byte trying to be achieved here is to keep hammering on the Foley and congressional Page connection. Keep both of those phrases in front of dopey American ears: "Congressman Foley" and "Congressional Page". The age of majority, it would seem, does not matter.

The Republican was Jack Kingston - I've always liked him. He's the one that initiated and sent the letter to Pelosi re appearing under oath. I'll look for the thread

Did that topic come up?  I missed his appearance.  In fact, I missed everything but bits and pieces of FNS.

thank for the picture!!! isn't McHenry a cutie?

I'm still on CNN and according to John Harris of WASH POST, republicans should be "totally worried" about the elections. Republicans are divided, climate couldn't be worse for Rove, Harris says.

Blitzer is trying to gin up arguments making fun of McHenry for pushing blame of scandal to Democrats. Dana Bash and Mark Halperin jump on his bandwagon, bu John Harris says, "of course CREW/Democrats are pushing the story".

Mark Halperin says, as of today he thinks Democrats will take over House. He cautions Republicans have more money. John Harris says "landscape has really changed", he says Rove's winning days may be over, he can' use his regular strategy. This CNN roundtable is a funeral service for republicans!!!

...I once thought Fox News would be an ethical, professional organization that would keep the personal biases of their reporters OUT of the story line, but now see that the angry left has brow-beaten them into behaving like all the others. It is time to consider, if we even have a free press anymore. We don't. Let us strive to be the free press. Right here on Free Republic!

Good morning, AB, and thanks again for the Sunday Talk Show thread on FR. Sadly--but perhaps predictably--the FNC's transformation from feisty, conservative newcomer to part of the DBM illustrates Rush Limbaugh's "inside the Beltway" principle that sooner or later the DBM's "cultural brow-beating" corrupts. Like that famous axiom: "power corrupts." Or the "red" axiom: "When you sleep with dogs, you get fleas." But, thank goodness--as AB says--there's FR, which is a NATIONAL forum. Where else can you go to read what REAL PEOPLE from "outside the beltway/NYC corridor" feel about the issues of the day and provide lots of info and links to stuff that you'll never see in the DBM.
