UNSC to move forward on Iran sanctions
Jerusalem Post ^ | Oct. 8, 2006 | Nathan Guttman

The members of "P5 plus Germany," as the group is referred to, agreed in their talks in London Friday on the need to move forward with sanctions against Iran following Teheran's rejection of demands to halt its nuclear program. At the same time, the group made it clear that the door was open for negotiations if Iran accepts the offer from Europe and the US of economic incentives in return for freezing enrichment... The sanctions are meant to be imposed gradually, avoiding broad restrictions on Iran's regime or economy. According to diplomatic sources, this approach will help the US convince Russia and China to go ahead with a resolution while leaving room for strengthening the sanctions if Iran continues to reject the UN's demands.

Of course, the French are up to the navel in secret business deals, just as they were in Iraq. Oh, and if you want sources for that naked assertion, I won't reply, so don't write in, okay?

'Iran backs media freedom in framework of laws'
Saturday, October 07, 2006
IranMania.com
Iran is supporting press freedom and reporters' activities in the framework of its laws, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in response to a statement by Finnish government which had criticized media freedom in Iran, IRNA reported. According to the ministry's Media Department, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini refuted EU rotating president's baseless allegations on the situation of press freedom in Iran, saying that mass media are freely activating in line with laws in Iran. Hosseini added that the world nations have been observing Zionist circles' censorship and domination over Western media in recent years... Hosseini underlined in conclusion that the West should try to provide Muslims and freedom seekers with proper media atmosphere and prevent Israeli domination over its own press, instead of accusing other countries' press laws.
Hey Housseini! Your head on a pole, you Nazi [characterization deleted].

The Iranians can make their own wine anyway, if they care to. At AllEmpires.com, I saw a picture of a winery in California, owned by an Iranian immigrant. He made the main building look like the Apadana (the Persian king's palace) at Persepolis. And I've seen the name "Shiraz" on some Australian wine bottles. You know where that name comes from, right?
