Democrats launch new Foley offensive against Republicans
CNN ^ | 10/7/06

(CNN) -- Democrats used the Foley scandal to turn up the heat on Republicans on Saturday, a month before congressional elections that put control of the House and Senate at stake.

The Democrats devoted their weekly radio address to the matter, accusing the Republican leaders in the House of ignoring then-Rep. Mark Foley's "obvious predatory signals" in order "to protect their political power."

Foley, who quit as a Florida representative last month, is said to have sent sex messages over the Internet to teenage boys who had been congressional pages. Republican leaders, including Speaker Dennis Hastert, are accused of knowing about Foley's behavior and not stopping it.

Patty Wetterling, a candidate for a U.S. House seat whose own son Jacob was kidnapped when he was 11 and never seen again, spoke on behalf of the Democrats.

"We need to stop the sexual exploitation of children across the country, and in Washington we must hold accountable all those complicit in allowing this victimization to happen," said Wetterling, a Minnesota child safety advocate .

But none are closer than Scott Palmer is to Denny Hastert. They don't just work together all day, they live together.

Is Arianna insinuating here what I think she is?

I stopped listening to Laura Ingrham...she is too shrill

I also love (scarcasm) when she say the following:

the Republicans had better________ or else

Like, she as a clerk for Justice Thomas, is an expert political strategist

He wins the Cindy Sheehan Award for exploiting your dead kid for political gain. Shameful.

Isn't it wonderful that the TRUE feeling about the Gay's is coming out in the dimwit party?

Yes, that's what I'm reading on other blogs. The DUers, for one, are all over this Hastert living arrangement. I am disgusted by their tactics.

"If Fordham did warn Palmer about Foley a long time ago, what are the odds that Palmer did not tell Hastert?

Why would Fordham (GAY), who was Foley's (GAY) Chief of Staff, run to Hastert's office to tell them that Foley is having "IM sex" with a House Pages (all GAY).

How would Fordham know what Foley was doing on his computer? Fordham worked for Foley for 10 years before leaving to work for another Congressman. It was only at the end did Fordham claim to have turned in his ex-boss (ex-lover?)

Did Foley and Fordham have a "Lovers Spat?"

The point in referencing bad guy Rats is to demonstrate HOW the Rats reacted to sexual scandal not that they did it in the first place. The Rats are criticizing how the GOP was so slow to do something about Foley but that isn't the case at all. The leadership didn't know about the IM's just the e-mails which were innocuous really. As to the "save the children" premise that is bogus crap because these Congressional Pages are not "children" but young adults who are capable of saying "yes" or "no" to sexual situations.

Republican Bob Bauman of Maryland never resigned. His constituency dumped him. He was a conservative Republican with a wife and 4 kids arrested for soliciting oral sex from a 16 yr. old male. The media never went after the Democrat Speaker of the House nor did they ride this situation into the ground. Bauman was a pervert in office and the voters knew a pig when they saw one.

Good Lord, we probably should have seen that coming. But I have known people close to me who have seen those townhouses. They are huge, and it probably saves them having to look for one of their own. After all they aren't there full time, and who wants to have to support a home in Washington. They run them more or less like time shares, except there is plenty of room for 5 or 6 people at a time to live there and seldom run into each other! They are that big.

Yes she is insinuating exactly that. Lets not forget these are the same folks who say Lincoln was gay, who have tried several times to label high level Republicans as gay only to be made fools of. Remember too, the Jeff Gannon frame job. I remember a time when every Republican was being called gay by these fools, shorty after the election.

I am so fed up with their hypocrisy. Gerry Studds never resigned, Bill Clinton never resigned, Barney Frank never resigned...

Republicans maintain a higher standard. If found guilty of wrongdoing, Republicans resign, Democrats shamelessly hold on to power.

Foley may be gay, but the Democrats still have no plan to fight terrorists, will raise our taxes, and will favor big government over individual freedom.

Laura believes that it doesn't matter what the truth is, just what is the perception. So when something like this goes nuclear, its best for all concerned to fall on their swords. Which just rewards the dirty tricksters. But, I have to agree.. Laura is preciously close to jumping the shark. Michelle Malkin has also damaged herself by taking a strong position and digging in and then doubling down over and over again trying to justify the same.

And Captain Ed has done the same.. spewing the line that the emails alone were enough to justify strong action which is clearly ex-postfacto reasoning and they are just disgracing themselves by not allowing the facts to come out before they jump and being so in love with their positions that they try to justify them in the face of mounting counter data.

On top of this.. we have Mr. Hate, Michael Savage telling his audience to sit on their hands to prove a point.. This guy is an horses bottom.

We have been here before though. Remember Meyers? Remember the Dubai Ports scandal? The RATs have our range and are firing for effect to destroy the Republican Base.

They know that if they convince 1% to stay home they win..

It boils down to how badly do we love our country and how much are we willing to do to save it against the folks who would see it destroyed.
