Democrats' Hypocrisy Over Foley Matter
NewsMax.com ^ | Oct. 7, 2006 | David Limbaugh

Do you remember how many times during the Clinton years Democrats told us everyone lies about sex and that Republicans were shamefully distracting the Clinton administration by harping on White House cover-ups about sex with an intern?

Well, we have far worse distractions now being promoted by Democrats about far less important matters and during far more dangerous times.

When Clinton was president he lamented, "I just want to get back to the work of the American people." That deserves to be echoed by Democrats today, because we need to have a genuine debate on the issues that really matter – the war against the jihadists, the economy, marriage and abortion, and other vital issues – before the November elections.

Will Democrats, if they regain control of either – or both – houses of Congress, use their newfound majority to further stifle the president's prosecution of the war on terror? Will they de-fund our soldiers in Iraq and demand a timetable for withdrawal? Their incessant criticisms of Iraq being "the wrong war, wrong place, wrong time" imply that they would.

They've been asked to answer questions under oath and have refused

Because they're knee deep in their own scandal. There was someone (Republican congressman) on O'Reilly tonight that said Pelosi was asked to take the detector test and refused that, too.

I don't know why not.
Well, maybe this isn't going away because of things like this. Or things like this. I think the longer Speaker Hastert stays around, the worse this is going to get. Someone needs to fall on his sword soon, for the good of the party.

I don't agree. Republicans have been too weak in the past.
If Hastert is innocent, why should he leave because the MSM says so? It's about time Republicans started to stand up for themselves.

I'm not saying Foley is innocent of anything but it looks like one hell of a setup to me.

Check this out.

Here's when the Foley story broke:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1710267/posts

Mr. Edmunds posted about it on the Pages website at 2:12pm which means if he was in Oklahoma he posted 6 minutes after ABC's article was posted on the internet. Now what are the chances that was just a coincidence??? On a scale of 1 - 10 I'd give it a zero.

Hmmm, yet no law here seems broken.

This also confuses the issue of the Gay Fatwa.

Motive?

Check out this thread. All the players histories are discussed. Shocking, to say the least.

DNC Says Foley Tragedy Could’ve Been Avoided

The Democratic National Committee issued a statement alleging that the scandal surrounding Rep Mark Foley (R-Fla) demonstrates a “lack of leadership” in the Republican Party.

“You didn’t see people resigning in disgrace for these kinds of scandals when the Democratic Party was in the majority,” Howard Dean, Chairman of the DNC, said. “We kept things under control.”

The statement went on to list people who were able to avoid resigning in disgrace when Democrats held the majority: Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass), Rep Gerry Studds (D-Mass), Rep. Jim Bates (D-Calif), Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass), and Pres. Bill Clinton (D-Ark).

“The careers of these fine men were protected so they could continue their important work in government,” said Dean. “The record clearly shows that it is the Republicans who are so corrupt they have to resign.”

The statement went on to urge voters to vote Democrat “to put an end to the Republican culture of corruption.”

In related news, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif), currently Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, promises that the long nightmare of corruption and fornication that has plagued the government since Republicans gained the majority in 1994 will come to an end if Democrats retake control. “Look at what’s happened since 1994,” said Pelosi. “We’ve had cavorting with interns in the White House, e-mail sex with House Pages, we’ve had bribes stashed in the freezer. The place is out of control with Republicans running the show. Such things will be unheard of when I’m Speaker.”

Does this idiot think this makes the Democrat party look good? Are we sure Dean is not a plant to help us gain seats?

Democrats are soooo toast!

A Republican gets exposed acting innappropriately and he's forced to resign. Democrats get caught doing far worse and they will be given powerful committee chairmanships and praised in the media for overcoming a "mistake."

It's all hypocrisy and manufacturing additional scandals on the underlying scandal, but nevertheless, the Democrats got us good with this one, and the drive-by media is the driving force. I don't see how this can be countered by election day effectively.

Funny.

Because I've seen poll after poll from AP, PEW, Carville has a new one just out and not ONE is reflecting your claims the social conservatives are rioting demanding we keep out leadership out because of what one sick man did.

The only one evidence that seemed to justify your stance was the Reynolds poll, but a little detail has come to light since then. The first poll had him at 45% and the Dem at 43%. It also included a third Green party candidate that was first to withdraw.

The second poll used to claim the Foley matter was taking a toll on Reps only has Reynolds and his opponent. Reynolds stayed at 45% and the Dem picked up the Green party voters since their choice was taken off the ballot.

So the only evidence you possibly had this was taking a toll, which you didn't even submit yourself, turns out to have shown no such thing.

I don't know if you are a liberal troll, a conservative like Malkin with her own agenda which isn't justice nor truth, or whether you just don't have the backbone to avoid getting led where the MSM wants you to go. What I do know is that your claims about the social conservatives in an uproar against the Republicans over THIS matter are unrepresentative of any polling released or evidence of any kind.

Face facts.

This stunt by the Dems isn't having the effect they intended, it hasn't alienated social conservatives form the Rep party, Hastert's not going anywhere, and the Dems have a lot of fence mending to do with the homosexual community they threw overboard in their gay bashing free for all.

"They've probably forgotten about Foley by now."

Don't kid yourself. Every comedy show, news cast is constantly harping on it. NONE of the info uncovered here is mentioned. MSM is doing their part in NOT reporting the real news as usual.

The biggest news story of the day is the revelation of CREW's refusal to cooperate with the FBI, and the fact that the Soros-funded organization HAD THE EMAILS SINCE APRIL. Keep your eye on this. If the FBI does its job, the public focus will soon be upon CREW and its communications with Democrats, which I suspect will implicate Clintonite dirty-tricksters such as Rahm Emanuel and Bruce Lindsey, and lead a big boomerang of public outrage onto the RATs. The House as well should immediately subpoena CREW to appear under oath in front of an open committee.

We don't need 'weak-kneed' leadership that you suggest. This is exactly what the Dems want, and you are playing their hand for them.

We need to keep drilling, and soon we will hit the mother lode. This will backfire on the Dem-Stream-Media

But, it is what media is saying, even though it's a blatant LIE. I see no evidence of what they claim either. I think they are just making up the news as they wish it to be.
We can expect more of this until election day.

The only way you will see real news is by looking for it here and elswhere on the web. Media is bought off in this nation, and being used to sway election outcomes, a crime against every citizen in the nation. It destroys rights of the citizen to elect a government of their choice.
