I believe that is correct. Notwithstanding that this is a "conservative" board, I have seen over time that the spectrum of comments and attitudes, when you weed out the trolls, is pretty reflective of the Republican party generally. If this Foley thing was working at all, we would see it here. LOL. Julie Banderas just called the Phelps woman an "airtime whore." Just thougt I'd mention it.

Yes, but to get those kind of results as they claim in the Newsweak poll, IF it was an honest poll, a segment of Republicans had to be agreeing with the Democrats. SO if the poll is honest a segment of the Freeper body would be reflecting the same attitudes about the Republicans as the people in the poll supposedly do. Based on the numbers put up by Newsweak, even some of the base Republicans have supposedly bailed over on us.

NOW, since I do NOT see this attitude being reflected by the Freepers, in fact I see a rapid hardening of attitudes against the Left, that would suggest your Republican base is getting PISSED not getting disillusioned as the Newsweak poll suggest. There anger at the GOP Leadership is shifting, thanks to the 'Rat campaigning, to THEM

So what does that mean? It's a push poll. Designed to drive a story line. Easiest way to do it is screw with the Rep-Democrat-Indep sample mix to way over represent Dems.

IF opinions this volatile, the same dynamic can work for Repbos. It is just like on Katerina or Bush National Guard, the longer the story spun the more and more facts came out that nuked the Democrats spin lies. That you see no segment of the Freeper population siding with the Democrats seems to indicate the Conservative base is pretty solid.
