There are some Americans who opposed the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. They consistently opposed any military action we take against Islamists, Taliban, Baathists, Hezbollah, Hamas, and other similar groups - and those who harbor them.
They would rather blame our foreign policy for the ills of the world. Some have even gone so far as to claim we are responsible for what occurred on 9/11. One question they ask is, why do the Islamists hate us?
What they (and we) should be asking is why should we hate them? We have plenty of reasons.
First, the Islamists are ingrates:
Our military protected Muslims in Lebanon in 1982 and 1983. How were we repaid? Hezbollah killed 243 Marines, who were part of a peacekeeping force. The same Hezbollah that Democratic Congressman John Dingell recently said he was not for or against. (By the way, does anyone think it interesting that Pennsylvania Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz did not denounce Dingell?)
We protected Muslims in Kuwait in 1991.
We protected Muslims in Bosnia in 1995.
We protected Muslims in Kosovo in 1999.
Yet somehow, Islamists want people to believe we are the "Great Satan"?
The second reason we should hate the Islamists is because they want to annihilate us. They want to obliterate the United States of America and everything for which it stands - to quote a phrase. They say we prevent them from annihilating Israel and prevent the imposition of an Islamic theocracy in Arab countries and the rest of the world.
This is evinced by three documents.
One is the ( Go to the website http://www.theeveningbulletin.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=17293215&BRD=2737&PAG=461&dept_id=576361&rfi=6 once again I was unable to post the whole article
I just want them all to disappear from the face of the earth, without a trace.
Because we support Israel. It's that simple.
If Israel did not exist, they would still hate us. It's much simpler to blame everyone else for your problems rather than deal with them on your own. It's easier for many governments in the Arab world to blame the infidel for their incompetence than it is for them to actually fix matters or take the blame.
Regards, Ivan
I'm not "blaming" Israel. I'm saying they hate Israel and all her friends. I've no doubt they'd come up with other reasons, but THAT is #1. (IMO)
**One question they ask is, why do the Islamists hate us? **
They dont only hate us. They hate each other. Its a religion(cult) of hate. They arent happy if someone isnt dying , getting stoned, getting their hands cut off, They throw people in mulchers and use a decibel meter to see how loud they can scream.
No they dont hate us any worse than they hate each other.
You are naive. The Muslims have hated infidels for 1,500 years. Israel was not in existence for most of that time.
The Muslims also hated Byzantium and the Eastern Roman Empire. They took care of that many years ago.
The Muslims also hate Rome, and Muhammed, who predicted the fall of Byzantium, also predicted the fall of Rome to Islam.
The Muslims also hate America. Even if Israel had never existed, they would hate America, because we are the infidel enemy, the crusaders, and we put them to shame merely by existing.
What you said about them hating America is what I'm saying. No need to try and get all "superior". I'm not impressed.
GREAT POST, INFO.
THANKS.
Sure, I hate islamofascists. They're an evil scourge on the face of the planet that needs to be eliminated. Who doesn't hate them?
The people that I hate much more, that's who.
I am. I just think that the fact that we are Israel's #1 supporter irks them more than anything else.
Yes, but the question wasn't "Why does OBL hate us?", it was "Why do the Islamists hate us?". They have many reason, and as I said before, IMO the #1 reason that irks them most is our support of Israel. You're welcome to disagree.

The word hate has become epithetic in the past thirty years as it has been indiscriminately used to replace such common-sense terms as distrust, disgust, aversion, repulsion, caution, etc. until it has been turned into a defensive word which only has approbation when used to describe one's critics.
The political debate as all debate, depends on terms and he who defines the terms has the upper hand in the debate.
It is time to resurrect the old-fashioned term revile instead for it, at least, requires a bit of thought before it spurts forth from the mouth unbidden or with malice.
spik inglish!
I don't hate them either. But I'd sure like them a lot more if they were all dead.
Hate has been turned into a four letter word, lost its true meaning and is now the hidey-hole of the bad guys and the scuzzos.
