Managers of Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club looted the charity and used $1.2 million in taxpayer money for luxury cars, home renovations and start-up cash for lefty radio network Air America......
The former director, Charles Rosen, tapped Gloria Wise for $21,000 to pay for renovations and furnishings for his beachfront apartment.... made it appear that $3,200 of it was used to pay a contractor for a "gang-prevention workshop"....Rosen also billed Gloria Wise for $6,178 worth of bathroom fixtures........He earned $249,000 as the club's director and owns a home in Co-op City. Investigators further found that Rosen set up six secret bank accounts......that he used to move $115,000 from Gloria Wise to himself and four of his top aides.
Rosen was also hit with a forgery charge after city investigators caught him trying to support the transfer of $875,000 to Air America in 2004 by faking documents to back up his claim that it was a loan made with the approval of the Gloria Wise board. The "loan" was made at the behest of Evan Montvel Cohen, a principal in the Air America start-up. Cohen simultaneously held a $91,000-a-year no-show job as Gloria Wise's development-fund-raising director. But he did not raise any money for Gloria Wise....By late 2003, after a year on the job, he "was performing few functions" and "was apparently rarely present," although he continued to be paid as a full-time employee, according to Hearn. Cohen resigned from Gloria Wise in 2004.
And the probe shockingly disclosed that the club wasn't only ripping off the city - it was also forging health reports to prove that kids in its nursery school were getting essential vaccinations. "They just dummied them up," Hearn said of medical forms mandated by state and city law.

Just a bunch of liberals getting a slice of the pie they're "entitled" to because they care so much. Nothing to see here. Besides, it's their personal life, so it's none of our business. And so what if they ripped off poor kids - those kids still got things they never would have gotten without the charity. And another thing, it's just a drop in the bucket compared to the billions Halliburton's making on no-bid contracts in Bush's war for oil. Besides, if it weren't for Bush's tax cuts for the rich and his handouts to Big Oil, the federal government would be fulfilling it's obligation to these kids and this charity wouldn't be necessary!

Charles Rosen, then running the Gloria Wise NY organization, engineered the loan to Air America as it desperately sought cash to start up during the 2004 presidential campaign. Rosen is no stranger to leftist causes and used the typical liberal scam --- conning taxpayer money to promote a political agenda.
Rosen belonged to the Communist Progressive Labor Party by the time he took the helm of the nation's largest rent strike during a 13-month standoff at Co-op City that ended in 1976. Also in 1976, he wore a wire for Charles Hynes, then a special state prosecutor who investigated Rosen's claim that NY Assemblyman Alan Hochberg tried to bribe him with offers of a job and cash in order to keep Rosen from running against him. Hochberg was convicted and sent to jail, while Rosen, with no more than a high-school diploma, was left to run the largest cooperative-apartment complex in the country, with about 50,000 residents. Rosen was identified as coming from a family of Russian revolutionaries and said he claimed not to believe in electoral politics.

Rosen----one of the phony Russian-born con artists seeking asylum in the US was once known as "the Lenin of the North Bronx." The US-based Russian crime wave is immense and consists of billion dollar frauds of auto insurance companies and Medicare by staging auto accidents. Rosen was booted from the top post at the Bronx-based Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club in June 2005 after the city yanked $9.7 million of the agency's contracts and launched an investigation into the group's finances, including the loans.
"Friend of the people" Rosen, has a home in Co-op City and an oceanfront condo in Rockaway Beach according to property records. And he is most probably living off the taxpayers as we type---collecting Social Security, state and city pensions, health benefits, maybe disability, and God knows what else he's got his filthy hands on.
Be careful, you could be indicted for even suggesting such a thing! LOL!
