I think Mr. Cuban's decision to delay Dan Rather's appearance until after the elections may have to do with fears of libel or slander litigation the sloppy, half-senile Rather may produce with his "investigative reporting" in the few weeks before November.

I feel the same way. I can imagine the conversation:

Cuban: Dan, how do you plan to cover the election?
Rather: I'll destroy Bush. It won't be like last time! I know just what I'll do --
Cuban: Dan! Settle down! I want you to just cover the news. Can you do that?
Rather: I'll do that. And I'll do more! I'll wipe the floor with him! No one likes a man who beats his wife! Wait till America hears what I've got --
Cuban: Dan! You're spraying spit all over me. I think we're gonna have to hold off until after the elections on this ...
