Nagin embraces Jefferson campaign Mayor returning a political favor

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, who rarely misses an opportunity to tout his efforts to rid City Hall of corruption, said Thursday that he will enthusiastically urge voters to re-elect U.S. Rep. William Jefferson, the target of a sprawling federal bribery probe that has cost the veteran congressman his seat on an influential House committee.

When he was locked in a tough re-election campaign last spring, Nagin said, Jefferson was one of the few local elected officials to stand by him. As an embattled Jefferson prepares to face a dozen challengers in a Nov. 7 bid for a ninth term to the 2nd Congressional District seat, Nagin said he is returning the favor by agreeing to appear in campaign ads and literature.

"I've told the congressman that since he supported me during the mayor's race, that I would reciprocate," Nagin said.

It will be interesting to see who will be the run off candidate with Jefferson.

I bet Marion Barry would support Jefferson too.

No doubt in my mind.

Too bad Tookie is dead, there would be more support.

New Orleans is just another example of what happens to a large political area when blacks are put in charge. In city after city, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York City, we have seen black mayors who drove successful cities into decline. In every case white mayors had to come back in to restore the city.

Mayor Nagin in New Orleans is a declared, avowed racists who hates white people.

A poll last month http://www.bayoubuzz.com/articles.aspx?aid=8219 has Jefferson with 25%, followed by State Rep. Karen Carter (14%), Joe Lavigne (13%) and State Sen. Derrick Shepard (9%). IMO, Jefferson would win hands down in a run-off with Lavigne, but Karen Carter could unseat him.

Looks like these two wannabe-rich black bigots are trying to give the crooked rich white masters running the RAT cult, a run for the money. But I'm sure if they go gettin too upity, Coward Dean and Boss Clinton will remind them that once a slave, always a slave to the democrat plantation.
