I have read the articles that were posted here previously about that NY Harassment site and also listen to chunks of Mr. Medved's show today. All I can say is that I am even more confused on what these particular women are complaining about. I am not saying that it doesn't happen, but I rarely see it among my fellow men. Is it a Northern thing? This Tina and the New York site talk nothing, but what goes on around where they live. Plus I have seen plenty of women who leer at men as well, even seen them stare(for whatever reason)at the same beautiful women that men will glance at or check out. I can understand being offended by a guy that approaches and acts like a butt head, but how often does that really happen. Even then I have seen plenty of women who will be offended by one joe smoe checking her out and then all wobbly knee and gushing when Mr. Stud muffin checks her out.

Its very confusing and very mixed signaling. How is a guy to know how to act towards a woman in such an environment. This is one of several reasons why I have held off dating the past few years until I had solidified my religious beliefs. My hope is by doing so I can "fish in a pond" that is filled with women who are of similar mind and outlook. I hope it doesn't turn out to be wishful thinking on my part.

The writer in question seems to frequent places where discreet is unknown. It isn't nice or polite to make women feel uncomfortable, but I guess some personality, or big city, types might enjoy doing so. The action she is talking about is not easy to do. One would have to be pretty blatant about the leering and ogling, so blatant in fact that you would have to be observed by the subject of the ogling.

This means you would have to be in front of her and within approximately 20 degrees either side, and do something that would catch her eye, (noises are not allowed) and then mentally undress her while you have her eye. Nearly impossible I say. IOW it is all in HER mind. She is either a dreamer, a journalist, a militant fem with an agenda, or a total dunce.

I had a "lady" push me the other day for my attempting to hold a door open for her.

Thank goodness I live where I live in Tennessee, where holding a door isn't considered a form of harassment. I hold the door on a regular basis where I work (maybe I ought to add it to my resume), and in the town where I live, and I've never been harangued about it. The looks of surprise, the "thank you's," and the comments like "my boyfriend/husband never does that for me" are great.

My speed-of-light friend says the "male reptilian brain" will always have the impulse to gawk in unsubtle, selfish ways. I say order up cognitive behavioral therapy for half the population.

Its this guy that concerns me, not the bitter man-hating shrew that wrote the article, she's a dime a dozen. I'd lay money she turns around and views the "Girls Night Out with the Chippendales" as empowerment.

But this "guy"... Wow. Buddy, is the approval you get from women that pity you for your gender really worth selling yourself out like that?
