Foleygate May Turn Into CREWgate

The FBI, which keeps meticulous records and has no reason to spin this mess, is now claiming that CREW had the emails as early as April and that they were so heavily redacted the FBI could not do much with them - so says the Washington Post:

Law enforcement officials said then that the e-mails did not provide enough evidence of a possible crime to warrant a full investigation. In the e-mails, Foley praises the physical attributes of one page and asks another teenager for his picture.

In subsequent days, unidentified Justice and FBI officials told reporters that the e-mails provided by CREW were heavily redacted and that the group refused to provide unedited versions to the FBI. One law enforcement official — speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation — also told The Washington Post the FBI believed that CREW may have received the e-mails as early as April and that the group refused to tell the FBI how they were obtained.

April! If CREW was so worried about the well being of these Pages why wait until July to release them to authorities if they had them in April. And as someoneMichael Barone pointed out tonight on Fox News, Crew could have provided the emails to Democrat members of the Page and Ethics Committees of the House - but they did not! Why? Why give useless versions only to the FBI in July?

What the Post is not reporting is CREW mentioned on CNN their source was a Hill Staffer. And how long did the Hill Staffer have these emails? Why is CREW obstructing the investigation?

Well, despite the 20/20 hindsight crowd. The emails that CREW sent to the FBI asked a page for his photograph. This seemed a bit less than what might trigger a SWAT raid.

The CREW complaints to the FBI and others were calculated to be obvious as a problem EX-POST FACTO. But, these emails if triggering an investigation at the time.. would have surely gathered Gay bashing complaints.

Given the parents begged the Republican leadership to drop the issue, its hard to beat these folks up and be fair.

This case is over. It is dead Jim. You will never hear anything more about it from the Democrats.

Pelosi will stop the investigation in its tracks and Hastert will keep his mouth shut.

In the end, Conservatives will still come out and vote, a more Conservative Repub will take Foley's seat and every congresscritter will leave the pages alone for another couple of years.

And the idiot koolaid drinkers will still be just that, idiots.

I was watching Paula Zahn on CNN last night( Thursday, 8.30 PM,EST). I was waiting for a interview with Neil Bortz. Anyways, her whole show was about Foley. She had a report on the head of CREW, a female. This lawyer lady said, "The FBI is a liar." Right on the show. Point Blank. She said that they forwarded the emails the day they got them, complete with the kids email address, and did not remove, add or redact anything. They were worried about the kid. They gave CNN the name of the female FBE sex/kid pervert agent. CNN called the agent and she wouldn't return their call.
Just from what I heard and saw of the CREW lawyer lady, I have to believe her. She was very forthright and made strong, clear declarative statements.
