Oh this is Britain, so they define "Asians" to be those from the Indian Subcontinent. A different definition from the one used in the States.

Notice also, 'Chinese' or 'Asian'. Point of Fact: When someone from the U.K. refers to an 'Asian', they virtually always mean that the person refered to is from Pakistan, India or Bangladesh.
I don't want to get into a long exposition on the history of the former British Empire, but that is just the way British people talk.

FYI, "Asian" is a Brit-ism for what yanks would call "Middle-Easterner".
