Yes please explain. Bob Seager and 'Like a Rock' served them well for a long time. My 92 K1500 is (at present) at 255K, so I'm still sold. I like Bob's music as well.
I like John Mellencamp's music, really never thought (or looked into) his politics. If I had a 79 camero I'd cruise the Dairy Queen and crank it up--crunch those old Jansen speakers 'bout Jack and Diane.
Just call him 'Johnnie Cougar'--I hear he HATES that!

Yea! I saw it too, there were women running around in their bras and panties and high heels, flexing and ... oh, sorry, wrong commercial.

I liked Mellencamp's music when he was a rocker. But sometime in the 80's he published an album called "Blood on the Plow" and began to fancy himself a singing sociologist. He also denounced his early hits like "Jackie and Diane" and said he was ashamed of it. My girlfriend told me she was at a concert in Colorado and some biker threw a can of beer at Mellancamp, hit him in the head and knocked him cold. She thought that made him become goofy.

I have 100,000 miles on mine and it still rides like a Caddy and purrs like a kitten. The only problem I ever had was when the engine light came on. The gas cap didn't fit right. New gas cap, light went out. Hasn't been in the shop since.

Not to worry too much about GM products ... my broker believes that GM and Ford will either cease to exist or will be a wholly owned subsidiary of an European conglomerate by the end of the decade. In any case they will be mere shells of the great American companies they once were.

No you're not wrong. I was particularly pissed the way they interspersed the shots of the soldiers with the peaceniks.
Here's the guys who keep us free, and then they show the dope smoking maggot infested hippies who gave aid and comfort to the enemy.
John Mellencamp is a puke. It's a very lousy commercial, unless you're a phoney baloney, plastic bananna, good time rock & roller.
Yes, I listen to Rush religiously - does it show?

Few posting pointers. First, provide a link to the offending commercial. Second, don't post rants in News/Activism. Third, you gotta be friggin kidding me. You're mad because Chevy uses Mellencamp? Lighten up. Wait till they start using Springsteen and he sings about driving his Chevy over a Bush, LOL. They're both losers, actually all three of them are.

Sorry - thought this was America where I could make such a choice. I have owned Chevies all my life and feel they made a mistake here and was looking for support. I want the damned commercial off the air. Mellencamp is a traitor!

yep his music was pretty back then "Jack & Dianne" etc, then after that it sucked big-time ever since, pretty much the same thing with Billy Joel for me, his album I think it was called Glass houses.. was pretty good, then just about everything after that stunk!

You can make any choice you'd like. You chose the title for this vanity. Were you not inviting discussion, even opposing viewpoints?
I'm not sure why my comment suddenly turned you into the "victim".
