Ramsey Clark, a former US attorney general who is one of Saddam Hussein's lawyers, said that any death sentence against the former Iraqi president would increase violence in the strife-torn country.

Really? Probably hard to tell ... anyway, bottom line, Hussein should have been dealt with a bullet to the head, or a grenade dropped into his underground hiding hole, the day he was captured. Would have saved an enormous amount of time, effort and expense ...

Sounds like a threat. Ramsey belongs on trial as a collaborator.

His maniacal sons are dead and he needs to join them. I think it's a shame it's taken so long.

The people of Iraq will never be completely sure he's not going to come back until he's dead and those who continue to fuel the fighting in hopes of bringing back the days of their money and power will get a dose of reality once he's executed and gone.

They should have shot him dead within minutes of capture. It would have been the best thing for both countries.

Who is paying Ramsey's fees and expenses? Or is he independently wealthy?

I see the hanging of Saddam as an excellent chance to show up the few remaining supporters he has. Every Baathist, al-Qaeda, and other villain will have to show that they still have power left.

But by now, the Iraqi army and police are almost fully ready, so that if those creeps try it on, surprise!, the US army won't be in the way of the new Iraqi government just thumping the living daylights out of the unreconstructed bastards.

Baghdad is being prepared for, among other things, the hanging of Saddam. When the day arrives, that city will be as tight as a drum.

* Ramsey Clark :
One such sympathizer might be Ramsey Clark, the former Attorney General for the Lyndon Johnson administration. In 1992, Clark founded the International Action Center, which enjoys the continuing support of the ex-Trotskyist, pro-Stalinist Workers World Party. While the original teachings of Karl Marx are decidedly atheistic, Clark sees a natural alliance. "Islam has probably a billion and a half adherents today. And it is probably the most compelling spiritual and moral force on earth today. (source). "Islam is the best chance the poor of the planet have for any hope of decency in their lives. It is the one revolutionary force that cares about humanity..." (source) ------ "September 29," By Gerry Daly, September 26, 2001

Just announce the day, the place and time and turn Saddam loose. The Iraqi people will give him swift justice.

So, a conviction of this butcher will lead to more violence? Does Clark think we should let him go? Should he be acquited? What does he suggest?

"It seems clear that a guilty verdict will set off catastrophic violence" and that a death sentence would be even worse, Clark told a Washington press conference.

Yeah, they've just been playing with us, if we make them mad watch out!

/S

It must fun to live in Ramsey Clark's make believe world.

Oh, so then Sadaam Hussein should be found not guilty and released? That would be a real recipe for violence and instablity. Plus he's guilty of a lifetime of unspeakable crimes.

The execution of Saddam might bring all the Sunni insurgents out of their rat holes so they can be cut down. Most Shiites will celebrate.

"Ramsey Clark says Saddam death penalty will unleash 'catastrophic' violence"

More appeasement strategy from a cowardly leftist. Their whole rationale is based on fear.

The fewer Iraqis, the fewer problems.

For the history impaired...Iraq has a long history of over 6,000 years of tribal warfare and bloodshed. Mass murder on mythic scales. This is what they know. This is what they do. The Assyrians were among the most feared, but then came later tribes. All practiced one thing - decimation of their enemies.
