I haven't had time to look through the thousands of posts and dozens of threads.

Could someone in a nutshell tell me what's going on? Maybe point me to a link that explains it in a couple/few paragraphs? I'm watching FNC and their opening story makes it seem that Foley not only talked kinky with an underage page, but that three more have come forward since then and claimed the same.

That's different from all of the "woo hoo"s I read at the beginning of this thread. So what am I missing?

Last evening it broke who the most graphic IMs came from and the man involved was 18 at the time. He is also employed in the campaign of Istook for gov. He has also hired a criminal defense attorney.
also the website that fed out the story existed for the sole purpose of ..feeding out the story in a way that most likely would damage the republicans. It had no traffic to it to speak of at all and yet with in minutes of coming out with the salacious IMs, they hit the sites like KOS, etc.
I would say the whole thing is a set up but it blew up last evening. Of course, like with Rathergate, the MSM will be in denial the whole way. I was expecting better from FOX. I was encouraged also to read on Drudge that Speaker Hastert came right out and said that the people who want to see this splashed all over are demmocrat operatives and liberal groups funded by Soros. That doesn't sound like a man who is fearing a backlash for "harboring" a pedophile and then trying to play a blame game. So I have hope this will turn to the favor of decent people in our country.

The page with the original IM's turns out to have been 18 during the more sexual exchanges and not a page at the time.

Drudge revealed the IM's from this page were a "prank" between a group of guys that wanted to make fun of Foley. Foley thought the exchanges were reveal, but they were by no means "prey" because they were leading him on deliberately. They copied the exchanges and passed them out.

That page has also hired a criminal defense lawyer. So it's up to you whether you want to believe it was merely a prank that the Dems got ahold of and exploited, or if the page was complicit in the setup of the Republicans. Or, possibly is involved in blackmail but all that is speculation at this time. Al I know is that must people don't run out and hire a criminal defense attorney for a "prank". A lawyer, maybe, but not Mcveigh's lawyer.

Now ABC introduces three new claims. They have no proof other then verbal confessions that Foley preyed on them. two were adults at the time. The other claims to have been 17. They are repeating phrases that were in the famous IM's, which could imply they are merely copycats. And only a couple of hours after a story in which Drudge uses the term "prank" and the MSM had no yet reported on, one of them uses the exact same word. Evidencing at very least they were coached. Furthermore ABC did NOT lead off its newscast with this "breaking" news as they most surely would have done if they believed in its accurracy.
