CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.

The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.

The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.

The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

So why didn't he fess up that the IMs were a prank? Did he tell his boss? Did he tell someone in Hastert's office? Nope. He waited until someone discovered his identity.

He conned a US Congressman. Character counts. That's why voters should take their votes more seriously.

re: ABC News just swallowed it whole

Well, we've talked about it before frequently. The MSM is so anxious to get dirt on the Right that they simply can't contain themselves long enough to check out a story. The more you want to believe something, the less it takes to convince you. Apparently they haven't heard the saying "If it seems too good to the true, it's probably not true."

Too bad they didn't know my Mom. She was good at wise old sayings.

Now TURN THE TABLES PUBBIES!!! This is a DEM SMEAR JOB and you need to get out there and paint it as the POLITICS OF PERSONAL DESTRUCTION RIGHT NOW!!!

Unfortunately, this is exactly when the Republican penchant to "go along to get along" will begin to kick in.

I expect the next Democrat play to be "haven't they been hurt enough? Can't we just put this behind us and get back to doing the people's business that they sent us here to do?"

And then the Republicans will accede, and we'll be back to last Thursday, as if all of this never happened, until it happens again.

Hastert also has to know that the Democrats were planning to backstab him all the time that he was defending William Jefferson during the FBI raid.

However, just like how the Democrats are the proverbial scorpion, the Republicans are also the proverbial frog, and I fear that it's just their nature to allow themselves to get stung.

Again, and again, and again.

I really hope that they start fighting back this time. This attack cannot be allowed to stand.

I couldn't agree with you more. Now, the Rove/RNC/Hastert Shock and Awe Machine needs to come out blazing.

2000 - The leaked DUI of GWB just before election.

2004 - the fake but accurate National Guard letters.

Plamegate

All piled on by the DNC and the media.

----------------

Sandy Berger document theft.

Clinton's missed opportunities for Osama bin Laden (D).

The walls of communication among the FBI, CIA, etc.

All largely ignored.

Foley is not guiltless.

He wasn't forced to have cybersex, just like Bubba wasn't forced to get excited by Monica's thong.

Choices people, we all make our own choices.

I gaurantee everyone here, that top DEM strategists want Pelosi out right now, because of her terrible performance today.

When the American Public find out that she denied a Clinton Appoiinted FBI director from investigating this page program, she will be finished.

Good afternoon.
"It was a poor attempt by the libs to get Hasert."

They thought they could throw the Republicans into disarray too close to the election for the Pubbies to come up with a defense.

It'll probably work in creep Foley's district, but it's starting to look like the DemocRATs are mostly going to shoot themselves in the foot again.

We can only hope. And vote, of course.

This is the perfect time to jam the knife in and twist it. It's about time the Democrats were made to pay a heavy price for their chicanery.
