CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

First Foley turns the page, then the page is turned...
Oh, that part was obvious. They wanted to decapitate the GOP house leadership so they could push for Speaker-of-the-House Pelosi even harder since their campaign trail clarion after that would be that the "vacuum of leadership that needs to be filled"...by them. (gag..retch...puke)
That'll be hard to explain away.
Especially after the news orgasm CBS has had for a week now.
The word is he resigned over the emails and before the IMs were revealed. That blows away the best evidence that the IMs are not forged.
Looks like Freeh got here just in time to find out who those "political operatives" are, huh?
Oh I agree. But they are morons and want to see the GOP lose in November. We need to get this story out there to the MSM otherwise it will disappear.
BUMP!
I bet they are exploding!"
From what I see so far they are basically standing around the kool-aide bowl and reassuring themselves that Foley is still gay.
Turn your caps lock off.
You make an excellent point. If I've only learned one thing since being here at FR it's don't believe the MSM when they come out with their hit pieces.
The mind boggles.
While I know it doesn't reflect well on my character I must admit to enjoying ....... imagining ...what Brian Ross might be experiencing right about now:)
They way I understand it, Drudge isn't claiming the IMs are fake, but that Edmund baited Foley into writing that stuff while he (Edmund) and his friends sat around laughing.

Oh please. I would believe the teenage boy party having fun at the "3F" congressman before jumping on the homo wagon.
OMG, I didn't see this post and I posted the same pic!
That's as strange as this story......
Me too. There has been too much background preparation to enable exploitation of this situation. Probably some willing dupes involved. And maybe payoffs as well. Let the investigations proceed.
I think by 'prank' they mean Foley was baited.
Maybe, but I'm not so sure. The problem is that the IM messages themselves don't reveal the relevant context (i.e. that they were part of a prank). What makes me think that Foley might have played along is their very graphic nature. You don't get elected to Congress by being THAT stupid. That's why I think that Foley may have actually been in on the joke.

I hope DRUDGE contacts Freeh!
ROTFLMAO
