According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

You feel bad for a pedophile?? Because even if he didn't *do the deed*, he was gearing up for an encounter with this page. He'd already invited either this page or another to his hotel room (according to one of the transcripts). And I don't care if the page was of legal age or not; he was still a teenager. Would you like your 18-year-old teenager to be having sex with a 52 year old man?

I've been following this for most of the day, and this caught me offguard ... what did I miss? The IMs from which one of the three former pages originated in a gay bar, and when did this come to light?

Do you feel sorry for the predators who get baited by those Dateline specials? I sure don't. I don't watch Reality TV, but if they made a show about arresting pedophiles and scaring the ever-loving crap out of them, you betcha I'd watch it.
One of my best friends almost became a Congressional Page. I know how I would feel if I ever found out that a 52-year old congressman hit on her like that.

So, correct me if I've reading this correctly. David Corn says that if you are gay, he will not put up with it if you are not a Democrat. In fact, he is going to force (or blackmail) you to convert by outing the details of your life.
Lemmme see, where have I seen this type of coersion lately. Oh yeah, it's the jihadists who force people at the point of a blade to be Islamic.
If we stick to our basic standards, to wit, rule of law, right of the accused to confront his accusers, evidence, etc. we'll be OK in this one.
So far no one has come up with a single instance of Foley having sex with anybody. For all you know his equipment doesn't work ~ too much drink will do that to you.
I trust he knew when it was time to check into rehab.
