La Paz, Oct 5 (EFE).- President Evo Morales said Thursday that Bolivia's Supreme Court has no jurisdiction over the extent of the mandate of the Constituent Assembly and denounced the tribunal as a "nasty aftertaste of the colonial state."
He commented in Bolivia's official capital, the southern city of Sucre, after meeting there with assembly delegates from his Movement Toward Socialism, or MAS.

You mean he doesn't like activist judges? Tell that to his leftist supporters in the US.
IIRC this is similar to the Chavez tactics that enabled him to rewrite the constitution there.
He is going to re-write the constitution, and doesn't want any Supreme Court standing in his way.
Chavez did the same thing. Everything he has done has been technically legal, only if you accept his original suspension of the constitution. He announced during his campaign for election that he would re-write the constitution, and sure enough from the podium during his inauguration speech he announced that the constitution was null and void, the Supreme Court disbanded, and the national Congress also disbanded.
The justices and the congressmen groused a little, but otherwise cleaned out their offices and went home.
That was the moment to fight, but since Chavez had won in a landslide, no one had the nerve to fight.
Bolivia's moment to fight is now. The president is going to overthrow the constitutional order. It may not be perfect, but if they allow this there is no chance things are going to get anything but worse. By rights, if Morales moves against the Supreme Court, the army should take him out. If they still have the nerve.
Exactly. The same playbook.

So he doesn't like judicial review either. Just proves even a blind squirrel can find an acorn one in a while!
The left will use the courts right up until they take over and then they'll execute the same judges who've helped them all these years.
